Hey all! This is my second build / gear thread, and this time I'd like to shine some light on a very fun combo build. A lot of people are familiar with the Immortal King 4 piece bonus, which allows your Call of the Ancients to stay active until they die. This is a massive build changer! So many options, but let me show you one I found to be amazing
These items (4 piece IK and Haunt of Vaxo) give you a pretty major boost in damage output. As you can see from my Skill Set, I focus almost entirely on Fury gen and damage with Seismic Slam, but throw in the stun from Frenzy to trigger Haunt of Vaxo. A few other items of interest for this build:
The Knockback from Shattered Ground triggers the 22% additional damage taken, which effects Ancients, Shadows and the Templar, not to mention hits like a truck (2.6mil+ without stacking any fire bonus).
Why Unity you may ask? I have another one on the Templar, and stacked his Vit, ResAll and Life per Hit so he absorbs my damage, and heals himself back up. That is also why I take Warcry with Invigorate. The Life and regen help to keep all the minions alive during those crazy fights!
Anyways, thanks for looking! I hope this gives some people ideas on other combos to try out with IK set, or just oddball builds!
Oh it works. He takes a ton of damage from it, and keeps me alive while standing in stuff. When he dies, I go from taking hardly any damage to getting hit like a truck. I'll post a video showing what happens when he dies
Here is the video showing Templar taking massive damage from Unity, while I take very little. Fast forward to 2:40 to see the elite pack with Electricity and Plague. Notice how when he dies, my health spikes like crazy, then when he comes back to life, it levels out.

This build just asks for a 2h weapon. A very significant chunk of your damage output comes from the Ancients and from the Vaxo clones - all those guys deal a set % of weapon damage regardless of its attack speed.
I agree 100%. Sadly, they haven't fixed 2 hander damage yet, and it still rolls the same as 1 handers. I've been rocking a Lidless wall for the added fire damage. If I could get a solid Maximus with the correct damage on it, that would be perfect for my build!
Amazing build , this is how barbarians should be rocking Loved it.
One small thing I would like to add , please when you put your battletag don't cover that much of the screen but other than that amazing.
Keep it up.
Btw you are so lucky for finding all these items , I haven't been finding anything I want but with RoS in almost 1 day I don't care much for gear now and I am so hyped for the launch night , taking my barb to act5 and starting the madness.
It is bugged, regardless of what blizz claims. When 1 handers roll with the SAME DAMAGE as 2 handers (not dps, but actual damage min-max) and are faster attack speed... there is absolutely no reason to ever use them. Even at lvl 60, 2 handers should have HIGHER min-max, with slower speeds, giving them higher dps. The reason being you are losing the potential to gain stats from an offhand (extra crit gem, % damage, skill bonuses), so there needs to be SOMETHING to make them more viable. I've read all the posts on the matter, and I recall one about a week ago where a community manager mentioned the 2 hander damage scaling would be adjusted in RoS, but that doesn't mean it should only effect lvl 70 items.
Even reading the article you posted, it shows how 2 handers are being rolled from ilvl 56 items, and 1 handers are ilvl 59... THAT is the problem.

I do that intentionally to cover up all my chat window so other members aren't on display in the videos. Sorry it covers up some of the gameplay.
Isn't this build broken at 70 with IK being a lvl60 set? Shame.
As far as I know, found sets are treated just like found legendary items and will scale up when found by players above their minimum required level.
Crafted items don't scale up, but IK is not crafted.
I'd like to think that would be the case, but if you look at the armory the set items all have levels next to them where legendaries don't, also the fact that you cannot find a lvl60 set item below 60 and because they have specific set bonuses balanced to a level.

The lvl specified in the armory means the level that the item starts dropping key word here being starts. ^^

Here is a short video of this build in action on Torment 5, with more info below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFG37wsNU-M
This build actually focuses more on the items you have, rather than the build you choose, so keep that in mind if you decide to give it a try.
Here's the Skill set I use for this build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#WeSjkR!hde!YZZabc

Exactly right! This item WILL drop as LVL 70 items.
I Plan on it as soon as I find a lvl 70 one I haven't been fortunate enough yet to see one drop, so I don't know how the summon is yet
I saw they added those items as well! I play mostly in co-op games with clansmen, but that would be amazing for stomping in single player!
