I'm hurting in a bad way. level 60 paragon 76 and only 90 mill.... I only do about 166k unbuffed.
I'm sitting on a bunch of Legends but because i don't have alot of time to play figuring out if i have anything is a challenge. I have played the most the past few weeks cause the wife was gone but she is coming back. I need to know what to get to boost myself.
I'm a Rend Barb not a WW so please help guide me a tad. I have seen barbs with almost no set peices with 330k unbuffed...
Would also recommend Hardened Wrath on war cry. Scales alot better then resistance. And armor is almost more important then resistance at higher MPS.
actually resist all and armor do the same thing. scaling is the same for both.
I would keep both of them stacked up. mp10 mobs hit damn hard. the big slow attacking mobs can still one hit me through 7000ish armor, 700-800 resist all, and almost 50k HP.
7580 base armor + 40% more is better then 20% on 463. Thats 3032 more armor. 463 +20% is 92.6 resist.
I would chose the armor way any day. And like Serap said, no idea how you guys doesn't survive.
Lets takea character with 7k armor and 500 resists unbuffed. Thats quite typical of mp10 barbs.
Hardenwrath gives 40% armor. So you'd be at 7k(1.4)= 9800 armor, with 500 resists. That would give you a total damage reduction of 93.42%.
Immunity gives you 20% armor and 20% resists. So you'd be at 8400 armor and 600 resists. That would give you a total damage reduction of 93.43%.
Impunity is actually slightly better although they're pretty much the same. What you're not factoring in is total damage mitigation is applied multiplicatively between your armor damage reduction and resists damage reduction, so you want the two values to be closer to each other, everything else being equal.
Just felt i had to jump in and ask something, i see tons of "plz help my barb" threads all the time.
are there no up to date and relevant gearing guides anymore?
not trying to mock anyone, just curious.
and if you got 7k armor, 800 allres, 50k hp and still die. you are doing something very very wrong.
you really don´t need more than 6k armor and 500 allres with around 50k hp (its what i got and im facerolling mp10 easy enough). going for more is for people with tons of gold and a dps of over 300k.
im at close to 400k dps now and ive decided that once i hit that ill start working on some more ehp. for now its totally fine
One the only guide i have really seen is the one pinned and it's pre 1.04 if i remember right. it's when Barbs needed shields.
My armor is 6367, My All res is 512, HP 42k 190k damage with Skorn. I'd love to faceroll MP10 Hell I'd love to not worry to much on 8 lol. & i can normally do until i hit a few arcane hordes... then i'm a dead man even when i try to run
and thank you all for this discussion I have learned from it already. Where can you find the damage reduction info?

problem being that mp10 skorn barbs shouldn´t use war cry. you should be using overpower for that extra cc to make sure you kill as much as possible with just 1 rend.
Thats besides the point. My point was xpire's claim that Hardenwrath is better if you have more armor than resists.
If anyone you have something worthwhile (weap or armor) that might help me please let me know and i'll see what i can do to get the money or maybe i might have enough legends to offset the cost.
Just to assure you I'm not looking for handouts just a fair price and help.
and if you got 7k armor, 800 allres, 50k hp and still die. you are doing something very very wrong.
How am I doing something wrong if I die in one hit? I'm WW'ing around on MP10 killing stuff and a big slow attacking mob just happens to connect with me and bam.. I'm dead. You saying I was playing wrong when I just happened to be in that spot when the attack happened?
It's like you don't know what the hell you're talking about.
And I rarely play MP10 anyway. For efficiency, I play MP8 because stuff dies a hell of a lot quicker and most of the bonus's are still there.
Let's just get that out of the way. They both do the same thing really.
Barb's have two armor passives though to help out
I do believe though 20% buff to all resist and 20% buff to armor would do the same thing in terms of survivability... no matter what each value was at. That was most likely why blizzard nerfed the resist rune .. because before the nerf it gave more than the armor rune. Now they are both equal.
Just keep them both up there. Don't stack one and forget about the other.

not really, as this thread is about a guy asking for help. and telling him to use war cry when his defences are already enough isn´t helping.
what he needs is dps.
I'm not telling him to use warcry. I'm simply debating the point that Harden wrath is not better than impunity. You can't be that dense. C'mon now.
totally depends you loon.
for example, i get 9% more protection from impunity and 8% more from hardend wrath.
and you are the one being dense arguing something totally irrelevant to the thread since we are talking about a skorn barb here who shouldn´t be using war cry at all-_-
Which just proves my point. Harden wrath is not better than impunity the vast majority of the time. Thanks.

Ok i moved over to overpower. we shall see what happens I'm now about 220K unbuffed
something is not quite right.. i'm only getting 75% damage mitigation. my armor when buff is 9211 my Res is basically 482 why is my reduction so low...

The damage mitigation shown in game is only for armor. It does not take into account your resist mitigation. You overall damage mitigation is 1-[(1-armor reduction)(1-resists reduction)]
As I said in a previous post, your armor reduction and resists reduction (and all other forms of damage reduction) is applied multiplicatively. That's why you want the two values closer to each other, all things being equal.
Mele damage reduction is that taken off before or after the armor and resistances?
I've already answered this. All forms of damage reduction are applied multiplicatively. If you have another form of reduction, you just add another set into the equation. So in this case it would be:

Sorry but you are hurting because the game at the moment is in poor condition. Diablo 3 classic was a failure so just wait for the exp.
