Can anyone explain to me why a 6/30 soj costs 5m and a 6/30 hota soj costs 2b when effectively it does nothing? Without a hota soj I can spam hota-non-stop, usually while still spamming sprint + shout. The only thing it really does is make wotb actually harder to keep up because of spending less fury, am I missing something that explains why it's worth so much more?
A HOtA SOJ, especially a -5 hota one makes a huge difference in Hota Kill speed. I've tested it on MP10 Ghom, drops my kill time significantly. Primarily because you can just hammer so much longer with it.
I see what ure saying but who farms bosses or single monsters? I don't think i've ever had a time during a farm run where i'm targeting just one monster... So basically it's a 2bln gold ring to kill bosses nobody kills and do the ubers that well yeah there kind of a joke anyway... So I still don't see why it's so expensive when it has no practical use or use to somebody doing a common farm run.
For fury... well all barb sojs give fury?
I'm asking this question because i'm in the realm of 2bln gold upgrades atm so was looking at what to get but I don't farm bosses, I never have only 1 target on my screen and I don't care about ubers... So with that in mind a hota soj would give me nothing?
When you play Hota, you should be dual wielding. When your dual wielding you definetly have an Echoing Fury. The +cold dmg on your hota soj means you slow everything you hit. Meaning you wont really get affected by the fear proc of the echoning fury.
Whatever you are doing, soj is a must. Also the cold damage greatly help to deal with the fear effect of the Echoing fury. The 30% damage to elites with the 6% elemental damage is a boost in damage you will never get with a normal ring, also because an extra damage stays with the +15 fury (3% crit change). Without soj you can't hammer forever, no matter what you say.
Really, the point is: there is ANY ring better then a cold HOTA soj? Not at all...
I'm aware that soj is amazing, i'm not denying that i'm simply failing to see why I would want a hota soj when you don't run out of fury unless ure doing ubers or bosses. Surely whirlwind sojs would be better considering the bonus actually does something useful for normal runs (Which lets face it are what we're doing most of the time).

Ok.. so lets do a little math. From what I understand every time hota crit it procs into the fray for +15 fury, I have 77% CC increased by 1% for every 5 fury. So I have 2 monsters in front of me, 115 fury so hota has a 100% crit chance. I use hota > spend 20 fury > crit both targets > regen 30 fury. So why on earth can't I hota indefiently? Especially considering 2 mobs I wouldn't even bother, I usually gather 5+ before I even consider doing hota.
Hota has a 80% proc coefficient. So even at if you have a 100% crit chance with hota, you still only have a 80% chance to proc 15 fury. And they're are plenty of times when you are only hitting one target.
Like I said, if you're just trash farming, then it doesnt matter. You're better off using WW and rend for trash anyways. But a lot of us do other things too you know, like DE farm or ubers. I love my cold -5 hota soj.

I'm not only trash farming, i'm also farming elite packs but no.. I never only have one monster I can't understand people that don't believe I never have only 1 mob. We are talking about diablo 3 right, where the mob density is through the roof and u can't go round 1 corner without walking into 10 mobs? Maybe you could give me a scenario where it wouldn't be efficient to go and pull additional monsters? I can understand that it's useful for ubers... but for elite farming? I still fail to see how anyone would need it for that in which case surely simply having a ww soj would be better because it atleast gives some (if only a tiny) advantage.
Ok it has 80% proc coi so I guess I would always need to be hitting atleast 3 mobs... That's still fairly basic for farming, even if it's DE farming... All you do is run of and gather monsters, is it not foolish to single target with a spell that can aoe?
If you're really DE farming its inefficient to gather mobs just so you can hammer more than one enemy. You just want to hammer the yellow, ignore the minions, grab loot and move on). If its a blue pack, quickly kill and move on. Smash has a very small aoe radius so its difficult constantly hitting 3 enemies at once, so yes a lot of the time for DE farming efficiently, you're just hammering one target. It's very helpful when you dont run a fury generator.

If you're just trash farming and whirling all over the place, then no it wont really help you.

+30% elite dmg = Yummy.
+ cold dmg = Yummyx2.
+ Hota ressource reduction = Yuummmeeh.
Its a superb item, hence why its costly.

Yes? Do you really stand there spamming a spell which can AOE on one mob rather than sprint of and grab some more, because I don't.
