Problems keeping WotB up

  • #1
I just recently came back to D3, like 3 days ago. i had a really small budget left on my account (~20 mil on EU) and bought some gear for a WW build. Now im out of money and I got some problems keeping my WotB up in between monsterpacks (alkaizer route on mp0/1).

Now i don't know what to do with my gear/spec anymore and what to aim for as my next steps. Hope u guys can help me.

how much sec left do you have when one pack is dead?
    it is like 12-14 sec?
first you need to change amulet and gloves probably,
both you need with 9+ crit chance

most of the time i have 6-8 secs left when im done with the packs and nothing else is around. i also constantly spend fury to try and NOT cap fury so the WotB rune still works for the generated fury. either im incapable of playing ww barb or im unlucky with my into the fray procs. i dont know. currently sitting on 47% crit fullbuffed.

hi, i dont even play wotb when doing mp1 runs the monsters just die too fast and i cant keep it up at all so i dont thing its worth it :/ i have no problems keeping wotb up when farming key at mp5 but at mp0-1 with wotb up everything dies so quickly that its impossible

Go up to mp2 or 3. IF you want to keep up WOTB infinitely. monsters need to take a few hits. You also need to keep your rage bar below full so you can keep "gaining" rage.

This. For my low MP speed runs, I swap WotB out for overpower - killing spree.

Not sure how long you've been away, but inferno was nerfed, and then nerfed again (as I'm sure you've seen by now). Your All Resists are CRAZY high for MP0, and I'm sure you're defense is overkill even for MP1 or 2. Dropping some AR and getting a lot more CC/AS would help out a bunch.

As someone already mentioned, you should get some new gloves (9+ CC, 8+ AS) and an ammy with crit chance and attack speed (8+CC, 8+AS or massive CD). Lacuni Prowlers with out crit are stupid cheap, and they'll help you proc more crits with their Attack speed, you may even be able to get a cheap pair with 3 or 4 crit on them (but I dont know the EU ah prices). If you swap to Lacuni's Prowlers, you could get a lot more STR/VIT on a rare chest with 3 sockets and maybe even some all resist for really cheap. If you're speed farming MP0, you could swap out for a cheap Whitching Hour for the AS/CD (yes I know you'll loose life steal, but you look tanky as hell for MP0/1/2)

My build is FAR from perma-WOTB, but I'm running max exp/MF on a budget till about paragon lvl 40-50'ish while farming legendaries.

I've switched my helm to a basic mempo, and upgraded my lacuni's to 4% CC. My ammy doesnt have much CC and has no Attack speed, but I cant find one anywhere close to this good with MF/CC/AS for what how cheap this one was.

On a side note: Increasing the MP will help you get more ticks per mob and keep WOTB up longer, but its not worth it if your EXP per hour goes down significantly. You can always try a 2 handed weapon rend barb build too. They're less fun than WOTB, but they're very effective!

i see a number of solutions. (or a combination of more than 1)
    -Increase MP
    -use Animosity instead of NoS
-swap your weapons. Its a dps loss but on low mp who cares, WotB uptime makes up for it. Mighty weapon generates more fury than 10% CHC.
    -increase overall CHC
-use Killing Spree instead of shout and have 100% uptime on it
    -use Boon of Bul'Kathos

In the situation when no monsters are nearby an elite you are fighting, try this:
When there's only 1 left (this usually happens with the golden ones, not blue), stop WWing when its getting low on hp. Just left click and spam sprint+brage like mad (i hit them both at the same time repeatedly). This will reset WotB to full duration AND you should have like 80 fury when it dies, for sprinting to some monsters.

My point is, Bash generates way more fury than tornados/WW on single target, possibly even 2 (if they move a lot).

Also do this anytime there's not enough mobs and WotB is about to run out. I can reset WotB to full this way even when it had 1 sec left.

btw you most likely need instigation for this, haven't tried without.

thx for all the tips guys. I just love this community <3

cranked the MP up to 3, its way smoother now, still dropping WotB sometimes but by that time i have like only 10-15 secs left of the cd so not really a prob there. i definetly gonna try bashing the single/dual ones for more fury gain (thx for the tip turtel) haven't even considered doing this for the uptime.

    Thanks to all the contributors
