I spent a lot of gold this week changing the chest, boots, and amulet (mostly for the set bonus) - 170M. Fairly certain I overspent but curious what you guys think of this character and the stats and gear.
With those new pieces I went from 23k hp to 31k hp and the damage went from 66000 to 71000. It seems like a modest gain but I know that I gain more from breaking the set with another neck piece. The main reason why I got the amulet was to get the extra 100vit. I am thinking of simply changing that and gaining 5000 dps while losing 4000 hp.
The Amulet and chest armour are underpowered in my opinion. Sometimes those legendary's are good sometimes not so good. I have had set armour before myself and got rid of it. Your other stuff is great.
Overpaid? Everything is relative! But as for value received, I'd have thought with that kind of STR stat that you'd have more DPS ... I think the CRT DMG is what's missing. I have the LEGS of that BLACKTHORNE set, and would like to get his SPURS,
At this point in time you over spent. They are doubling drop rates in the next patch. Now I know a lot of people will say its not going to be noticeable. And from a single persons perspective you are right, the slight increase wont mean stuff will be dropping for you left right and center, but over a big enough sample size (aka the entire player base) it will make a difference. Meaning that I think everything but the most godly of godly items will be dropping in price drastically in just a matter of weeks.

You spend 170m and still only dash out around 30k of dps? That is sad tbh.
am i over valuing all resist? He's got plently of legendaries but some of his stats are way off balanced? or does it not matter if your DPS is high enough?
The only time I have problems generating fury is in a boss fight. Even then at this point until 1.0.5 I simply spam Sprint in those cases. (I think the richochet is what helps in fury generation since your initial target may not crit but the next or 3rd may)
The move speed ice climbers above 200str are at minimum 300M in the ah. Since I already have 12% + sprint it seemed redundant. Definitely will eventually get some with sprint in the future.
As far as the 30k dps you might have been looking at it on diabloprogress not updated.
I also do have an andy's no socket (got it for like 500k) which bumps up the damage to 85K but I haven't seen the need for it at this time (maybe when I start doing monster power 7)
With the current items that I have if I pop cooldowns the ancient spear will crit as high as 650K which is plenty for the current state of the game (lots of champs in act 3 die in 2-3 spear crits)
The amulet is something I have been questioning mainly because I didn't see the initial benefit. The LOH seems to help but it isn't that much of a boon. I also agree with Nuvian since when I picked it up I immediately started to suspect that going for the set bonus was a trap.
The crit ring is my next upgrade when 1.0.5 comes out - will need something with -4 spear cost. Maybe the bracers as well when something shows up with 6% crit and high str. I have been keeping my resists slightly above 500 and when I was on the ptr it seemed like plenty.
Is it confirmed? I thought it only affected the PTR.
Why on earth would it only affect the PTR? there haven't been any changes to legendary items, and they cant test how doubling the drop rate will affect the economy without it going live.
