farm or progress through inferno?

For all you experienced barbarians out there, what would your advice be on how I should spend my limited D3 time?

    Profile: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Zigmund555-1199/hero/22973508

I can farm Act I easily enough, usually with 0-2 deaths per run. The trouble is that over a few Act I runs I may make 200k or so, which can take a few hours, and generally I don't find any items that will sell at AH. Generally everything gets vendored as I need the cash.

I have 40k HP, about 450 AR, 45ish %crit, but my character dps is only 13k, mostly due to my low dps offhand.

Should I continue to farm Act 1 or should I progress toward Act 3? I know my stats are low for Act 3, but I'm mostly getting lvl 55-58 items in Act 1 with 5 stack and I'm not making nearly enough gold to buy any upgrades anytime soon.

    Thanks.

p.s. Build advice is always welcome, but I use the bash/instigation & WoTB/insanity variant for goblins and other instances where my dps is too low.

You should probly still farm act1, if you're only making 200k an hour though, it'd be better to find a GF set and do act3 nm arreat crater runs, you should be able to get 500k an hour there.

You aren't even close to being able to do act3 yet, you should have 1k resist ( self buffed ) and around the same life you have now, plus probly 25k dmg at least. I don't play a barb so i dono exactly what it takes to farm act3 but that should be the ballpark.

btw your crit seems really high considering how low dmg you have.

Personally, I would have kept farming act 1 with that kind of gear.

Hopefully you will get some gold/items in the process and will be able to proceed progressing in act 3, otherwise it might be painful

Well there is a lot room for improvement, your MH weapon is under 600 dps . Buy a random blue 880 ish dps mainhand and see your dps increase. Furthermore you have quite some pieces with ress all below 30%. You should aim for pieces with 60+% ress all.

The offhand is not important, only the stats of the offhand are counted for your total dps. Offhand dps is not taken into overall dps calculations, only your main hand.

Your using the WW / Sprint build... for this build to be viable you`ll need very expensive and good gear, in this situation i would advise you to go more defensive so you can progress. And when you do progress the gear for the build your using now becomes available.

The old build which i used to act2 before i had decent enough gear was:

Ignore pain -> life rune | Revenge -> proc rate rune | Shout -> Impunity | Overpower -> revert dmg | RMB Frenzy -> Maniac | LMB Leap -> 300% armor.

If you would buy a main hand (sword or dagger preferred for the 15% dmg increase through weapon master) with around 880 dps and a bit of Life on hit you would make a fair chance. Don`t forget to aim for around 600/700 ress all for act 2 and even more for act 3/4

30k life and 8500 armor is also enough for act 2.

That's basically what I've been doing, was hoping there was a better method but it appears maybe not.

It's only been a few days that I've been looking but even a blue 800+dps weapon is several million, and that's with no LOH.

That's basically how I worked through Act 1 and I probably still have my shield kicking around. Seems like it was slower than the whirlnado build though. I can try that again.

Tried this for 2 runs last night, was much slower than the whirlnado build with my gear other than butcher. Had a few deaths on a champ where I was in bad position and thought I could facetank it... no such luck.

Income was only about 80k/hr, so need a better farming strategy or something.

I usually go Festering woods (2 caves, check for event) -> Leorics -> the area just next to Leorics to make sure 5 stack -> Crypts -> Halls lvl 2 -> Cursed Hold -> ruins to check for cellar.

Checked the AH.. seeing 700 dps weapons with LOH for 10-20 million and I can't even sell decent lvl 62s for 10k on the AH. /sigh
