First of all, I'm patiently trying to clear this stuff with my barbarian.. even tho all my drops and lucky AH bargains seem to revolve arround DH gear... Nostalgic feeling of my d2 barb owns me.
Right to my stats;
-I stacked up to 750-900 resist with impunity. (fire and arcane are 950ish rest is between 750-800).
-I think 9.3k armor or something @ 75.3x reduction anyways with warcry.
-Got 49-50k hp and 12k dps without berserker rage.
-got a socket weapon with a 300 life on hit gem in it, got some life on hit f rom my amu and rings and belt aswell. (using a string, mind you a rather cheap one 14% but with 20 all res and 94 life on hit)
-Also got about 19% block from shield.
Also tried more offensive stuff, all I can say is QQ ouch..
I don't really like ignore pain tho, is it absolutely nescesairy??
Maghda is easy, white mobs are easy.. Champions.. uhh.. dafuq? All i get is firechains, molten shit with some form of cc :\
I went into the sewers and some of them flys spawned with fire chains, jailer, descration and molten. I think I died about 20 times. Couldn't skip them either since Leah kept kiting them back into the wrong direction after I died.. Finally managed to 'burst' them down at my spawn point with 5 seconds on my 5 stacks of NV - I noticed they stopped getting health because Leah was 'agro'ing' them..
Figured out pretty early in the game I could use furious charge to move myself while jailed tho. Yet even if I do that, they put a new descration on me before the jail expires and I just died in like 1-2 seconds. They swarmed me whatever (stacking on top of you), fire chains molten and that fun shizzle while jailed.. Whatever, after the jail expired they just put a new one on me in a few seconds.. Tryed kiting, but even with 12% movement speed boots their pretty damn fast, the jail and sewers didn't make it any easier. :\
What am I doing wrong? Am I not correct that I should be able to atleast do act 2 inferno without the best uber perfect gear without dying a shitton of times to some unlucky spawn? And even being lucky killing them because they didn't get full health in 1 second thanks to leah.
Also.. has anyone found a way to have the enchantress live more then 3 seconds in inferno act 2? lol?
And is there honestly no way to use a more aggressive build, I hate my current build but anything more offensive and I feel like I'm totally gimped to take on a crowd - I'm thinking about rend with bloodlust but would actually love to throw some whirlwind in my build since rend isn't really something I love, tho its quite good. Feels like I'm in some crazy wow-like gearcheck upgrade cycle.. :\
Thanks for any replies in advance guys.
edit: I used relentless in the past, but I read superstition is more bang for the buck :\?
I can suggest one thing that might "massively" help you.
Use the Juggernaut passive. It proc's ALOT. Last night I came up against arcane, jailer, molten, mortar mobs, 4 of them...
First time they kicked the crap out of me. The jailer part was screwing me over the most. So I put on the juggernaut passive. Second fight I get an arcane laser dropped literally right on me as I get jailed. They chain jail me while I'm getting perma laser'd, but the juggernaut passive keeps healing me every time they chain jail me effectively keeping me fully healed because of the jail. I sat there for fricking 7-8 seconds straight with an arcane laser right on me and a mob with molten next to me and juggernaut outhealed that much damage.
After that experience I was completely sold. It's allowed me to solo several other elites that I could not possible have killed without it. I am pretty much going to have it mandatory in my builds at 60 because it can save your ass WAY more than extra armor can, imo.
I'm 56 atm in hell np, but I know inferno is another story. I can only assume this passive gets even better in inferno dealing with cc.
I really think this is a massively undervalued passive. Perhaps the incoming damage is too high to make it worthwhile in inferno, but I would still think it's a no brainer against any enemies that cc you. Using this plus the 2 armor passives would seem to be the best tanking setup imo.

Thanks, worth a shot I guess, dunno how it works in inferno..
Really don't know what blizzards intention is with barbs, sometimes I feel like I just cant get into melee range. While I can kite just fine and dodge shit on the ground all day, its not how I like playing barb tbh. Its more because its nescesairy since you burn your hp in seconds if you stand still :P. Add to that, with the 4 affixes in inferno, I seem to run into nothing but mobs that have some form of CC. Also its bs most mobs have natural affixes anyways, its not that uncommon to encounter mobs with 4 affixes and a couple of hidden ones lol.
Even walls can get annoying if they land straight on top of you.. Your stuck in the wall, even been spammed with walls so much once I got displaced into mid-air lol.. Couldn't hit anything, couldn't use furious charge, thankfully a knockback mob kicked me out of that buggy situation (had 5 stacks would have sucked to alt f4 out of that hehe).
Stick with your passives, swap wrath of the berserker for leap (300%) armor.
Vs fire chains and molten, always fight walking backwards. Hit only the target on the outside of the pack. Leap --> fight till you're low --> furious charge out --> repeat.

yeah I know that, but how do you cope with jailer spam, or getting vortexed into descration, or walled in completely then descration put on you well the latter can be resolved with leap ofc.
But it can't be intended that when you get jailed and furious charge is on CD that you can do nothing but die in 2 seconds from descration? Even if you live I seem to get jailed within like 2 seconds again :\. Does the 300% bonus from leap matter that much for stuff like descration? I figured the percentage gain of damage reduction would get rather low after a certain armor ammount, guess I can try it anyways I kinda like leap, I took it out in act 1 inferno since I found wrath working better.
Also correct me if I'm wrong, but you cannot leap while jailed right?
Like I said, use juggernaut. It will completely outclass the armor buff passives being cc'd even once in a fight on average.
It has a very high proc chance. Mobs that jail, fear, stun, immob you will just heal you.
It's literally night and day.
I don't see any other combo of passives trumping juggernaut, nerves of steel and Tough as Nails for overall utility/defense.
It honestly blows me away how people undervalue this passive. It's useless against anything that doesn't cc you, but maaaaan when you have mobs that cc you this passive will do more to save your bacon than any combo of skills/passives.
This is just my opinion, but I've seen how strong this passive can be and it's allowed me to solo champs that I would have never been able to pull without it-jailer, waller, mortar, arcane etc.
Well I got trough act 2 alright now, the start and the sewers where more annoying then the latter, it helps that the end of act 2 mobs are mostly those guards. Tho! I did find 1 group I couldn't handle. Not in a million years
You know the big dudes in the quests for zoltun kulle's body etc, they hit like trucks rock giants I believe. Not only that, they also bury under the ground. So get this I walk onto a plateau and 2 elite groups pop out of the ground next to eachother -_-. Then theres a shitton of skeletons and those frost + fire guardians which leave fire patches on the ground after they shoot :P.
Well I gave up on that combo. Lured them into a corner and died. So unlucky - affixes amongst the 2 groups - arcane enchanted, waller, jailer, vortex, descrator, mortar, plagued, molten. Lawl...
Hit a wall in act 3 tho.. Guess I'm back to farming mode for act 2.. That damage in act 3 isn't even remotely funny, I managed the first 2 quests barely, with some luck but.. Bwaahhhh. I think I need about 80k+ hp 15k+ dps without wrath of the berserker and well I think my resists are fine 900-1000.. But I'm gonna need new gear with more vita and strength anyways :\.
Gonna try to find a shitton of ias gear for my barb. I've got 1k life on hit, I'm contemplating if its going to scale well with frenzy and loads of IAS - well enough to outheal some damage without revenge for instance.
Cheers for the responses guys!
Also Bloccstyle - I found on inferno when switching to juggernaut, the damage reduction from superstition is HUGE. Since it not only reduces ranged attacks, but also elemental, think descration, loads of boss mechanics, plagued, molten, your gonna stand in it eventually with vortex and stuff. Just to note in act 2 I can basicly stand still in plagued and outheal the dmg of a 'lucky' affix rolled champion (for example jailer, fast, vortex, plagued - easy) with superstition, without I'm gonna die - and pretty fast too - just from plague alone. While its not hard to kite that shit your going to get dragged into it eventually by vortex or whatever, or you'll have molten and plagued combo's and other ranged stuff shooting at you at the same time. With superstition you can actually quickly cross over molten and plagued to take out a high damage dealing range foe for instance without to much concern!
Damage in hell of white monster in act 3-4 10k-25k
Damage in inferno of white monster in act 3-4 85k-225k
Damage reduction scales to well to ignore I'm afraid :(. Your gonna want to reduce every bit of damage you can with those big hits.. AFAIK it takes armor reduction first then reduces it by your resistance. I don't know if skills/passive resists come before or after tho. I'm guessing before.. The difference really is pretty huge without superstition..
