Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me out with what stats you guys are stacking the most for a good range of DPS and Survivability while in the higher difficulty modes.
Right now on my Barb my main focus has been strength and vitality, but I was wondering If I should be stacking more of other stats like Health on Hit, Chance to Stun, etc.
Right now I'm also running 1h/Shield with 16741 HP and 3575 DPS (Only using warcry)
I'm only on NM so far, but I read about this sort of stat build in another thread, someone said it's been working for them in hell.
RIght now I'm stacking Strength, life steal, life regen, and life on hit. Vit is just an added bonus if the item has it.
I use http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#acXgVj!dYX!aZaZaZ along with it, which probably isn't suited to Hell, but the amount of health I get from steals and regen is just silly, along with the 1%/sec from the shout, 9% of Rend, and 13% of Revenge. I haven't had to change it for bosses much, but it probably needs more defense, like Ignore Pain or some other skill for Hell.
this is the build that got me through Hell. I personally went for anything with as much str/vit as possible. I also ended up with some dex/int for resists and dodge chance(though I would not recommend stacking int :P). Another big factor is anything with +life on hit/kill/life regen. I use the Templar for his healing, and combined with the healing of my build/gear, I do fairly well.
I'll be honest when I say I have no clue how this build even got me to Act 4 Hell.
People really underestimate Hammer of the Ancients with the Thunderstrike rune. As long as you kill something with your hammer, everything stays stunned. Superstition will feed your fury to the point where you can Hammer spam to stunlock. Revenge should heal you enough between stuns. War Cry and Invigorate are amazing for regaining hp when things go badly.
You really can't die if you do enough damage (lol). Wrath + Ignore Pain will kill just about anything before it can kill you. And if not, the amount of hp regen you get is enough to play it safe while kiting.
Also, I stacked str + vit. It's pretty important you have a good weapon or this won't work too well.
my stat priorities lifeleach/lifeonhit > vit > str > int > life regen > anything else
high hp plus relentless/revenge spam is frickin awesome that's all i can say. i don't care what anyone says about relentless. that ability has saved me more times then you can imagine.
If I were to change my passive skills, what do you guys suggest? Right now I'm having zero issues in act 1 hell, but I'm sure it ramps up quite a bit in act 2

Im a 8/8 Heroic DS wow raider, so I'm used to having like 3 stats to min max... D3 has a shitload!
Just read this in another thread-
"globe radius is the most important stat in the game as barb. with pound of flesh you'll full heal from orbs off screen.
stand in poison/fire/lasers dont give a fuck 65k dps"
