Hello guys,
I have been checking this couple of times. Atm I am level 32 barb, and every time I am buying new items in the auctions house, I have made "tests" to see whats better- 2H or dual. Every time it seems I have more damage with dual insted of 2H.
I have seen some posts of users that using 2H. So, is there a point using it? Am I missing somthing here?
BTW: Is there a way to check skills % in game? For example Bash. If I use the calculator I can see the % of the damage, but in-game I can't.
While you'll throw out a ton of damage, you're too squishy!
This is true! But it has worked out well enough for nightmare up to act 4. Generally when I encounter a champion / rare pack, I pop zerker then earthquake. anything that stands in it usually melts pretty fast. even bosses.
then I just relay on the pound of flesh / pick up radius and revenge to hold me over. while I dish cleaves / hammers waiting for cooldowns again.
As I said, by no means "the best build", but it's a type of warrior glass cannon build I find very fun =)
HotA with Smash - 270% consistently sicne no cd
Revenge - nuff said
Earthquake - 2000% over 8 seconds. Prob better used in conjunction with WotB cd since both have long cd.
MAYBE furious charge/seismic slam can challenge the damage out put these spells can put out, but only with damage increase rune which isnt that great compared to other runes these spells have.
2 hander also works great with WW, but downside is its weak damage =/ I would probably use earthquake + wotb for boss encounters, since I found this combo to kill bosses really quickly with high dmg 2 hander.
Gonna throw Furious Charge (Merciless Assault) out there as an example. This skill is not dependant on swing timers. It's instant, and spammable in a crowd. That means when you assess it's damage "DPS" means nothing. Base damage is the only factor. 2 Handers have much higher base damage, and thus do much more damage with Furious charge.
The same goes for above examples like Revenge and Earthquake. Their damage numbers come from your base damage, not your DPS. You get more out of them with a two hander.

I grew up gaming without internet forums. The entire phenomenon of being upset with a game developer makes no sense to me. No sense. I cannot imagine spending my time and energy being upset about something I choose to do for recreation.
I am currently 53 in Hell in Act 1, and I threw out my 1H and Shield and got myself a 2h. I usually play with a Monk, and DH. But I haven't had really any issues yet. I have 19k HP, 3.5k Armor, and 3.3k DPS :0
I'm 23 atm in normal using a 2 hand sword. I've used some good 1 hand axes as well. If I'm getting better 1 handers I use things like frenzy, sprint and revenge alot. With a 2 hander I prefer skills like seismic slam, furious charge etc.
It really does make a difference. Seismic slam with 1 handers is decent. With a 2 hander and some damage bonuses it becomes fantastic.
I am using 1 hand and find it more damage than two hand , maybe because i had luck to find two high damage 1 handers , but then i had to switch the offhand to shield because it had tons of str which add more damage than the offhand itself.
also 2 weapons can give you more affix , dunno why 2 hand would be better , i only use 2 hand when the one i find add more damage than the 2 one hand.

It really depends on which build you are using.
In my opinion 2 hander works better with my current barbarian build (nightmare).

Popping off that earthquake with a high top end 2hander is going to do a world of pain (as opposed to a 1hander)
Same with revenge.

I do prefer using Axes/Maces with this build though, since it favors critical strike damage, my item focus is vitality in every slot + strength.
So far its been smooth sailing.
