So one element of the barbarian in d2 was the ability to use a 2h sword in one hand. I thought it made perfect sense for the beefy barb to be able to do this. Now in the d3 beta, I never tried to equip a shield and a 2h at the same time, and I noticed that 2h weapons do not have a "one handed damage" variable range of damage, as they did d2 ( I guess it was just 2h swords ).

Although I kind of just see 'mighty weapons' as one handers anyways. It's class specific and it's not like you have the option of using 2 hands for your mighty weapon. So it's more just another 1hander with a different name.
Uh....barbs have mighty weapons, which are basically 2H weapons for 1H slots.
How do you get to this theory?
Mighty weapons come in both 1h and 2h variants. They differ from normal weapons because they offer Barbarian specific afflixes, and generate Fury along with the Weapons Master skill.

Probably gotten from the fact that Jay Wilson said that Mighty Weapons are so large that normal people could not even lift one, ye the barbarian swings them with ease. Though "technically" not a 2-handed weapon in the traditional sense, they are supposed to be the "size" of what would previously be called 2-handed weapons.

Is it still possible to do this in d3?
I mean, why else would a class lose the ability to do something awesome, in a sequel game?

There are both 1h and 2h mighty weapons, so if the 1h are actually 2h does that mean the 2h mighty weapons are actually 3h or 4h? lol
Maybe you know something I don't but under both 1H and 2H on blizzards item section of the game guide website there are mighty weapons.
