I'll be honest, I spent so much of my life whacking away at shit as a frenzy barb in D2 that I'm not incredibly stoked about another frenzy barb build. But hey, it'll probably be the most viable deepser given what I can gather from my bleary-eyed once-over of the barbarian skills and runes.
As usual, comments, criticisms, scathing insults, generous praise, etc is all welcome.
I don't know how I feel about a cleave + frenzy combination. I mean sure frenzy will be more effective vs bosses and cleave against groups but I see the normal attacks as a way to gather fury for larger attacks. You've already got whirlwind as an AOE attack, and speaking of that I don't know if I agree with the rune choice for whirlwind. You only gain 5% total crit chance from all your skills. It doesn't seem like using that rune fits the skill scheme (or any non all out crit build for that matter). For that matter, I don't like the rune selection for battle rage either for the same reasons. I also don't know if I can agree about using a utility skill like leap attack with a damage dealing rune. Why not stun everything around you for 3 seconds(using death from above Alabaster) while you build up that frenzy and have plenty of rage, easily for whirlwind.
-What if you were to replace cleave with say alabaster War Cry and replaced the rune in whirlwind for golden, indigo, or obsidian.
-Also I've mentioned it in another thread not long ago, but I feel it's hard to justify using the passive "Boon of Bul-Kathos" while only using one affected cooldown.
-You chose 60% dodge rune for wrath of the berserker. With my suggestion of getting 50% life, and additional armor from warcry, you could gain additional benefit from Passives like "inspiring presence" and "superstition".

This build would do solid single target, AOE (efficient) and be pretty good for leeching life and reducing damage taken through cooldowns and abilities. In other words you'd do a little of everything well, but not the best. A well rounded character.
I think you're right about ditching cleave.. I originally wanted a fury building AoE, but I can build fury super fast with frenzy, and whirlwind is my rage dump while Wrath of the Berzerker is on cooldown.. I like replacing it with WC.
My only problem with +armor passives, and superstition, is that I want to take a lot of damage, which is why I prefer avoidance and life steal.. that way I can generate more fury. Might be a stupid idea, might not.. we'll have to see how the numbers game plays out in practice.
Here's where my head's generally at with this build. First off, I am purposefully stacking up defensive stats (life steal, etc), because with a melee character, I will sacrifice extra damage for extra survivability any day of the week.
Also, your assessment of 5% increase in crit chance from all my skills is incorrect. I gain 4% from Frenzy and 10% from Wrath of the Berzerker for a whopping +19%, which is why I took the Boon of Bul Kathos (cooldown reduced by 30 sec). It's during this high damage Frenzy/Battle Rage/WotB period that I will take down the most dangerous enemies.
Then, while WotB is on CD, I basically whirlwind around cleaning up the lesser mobs, all the while healing myself with the life steal.
I do like your build a lot though, looks more well-rounded than mine. I like the stun, that's one thing my build has none of: CC.
