I dont think we will see magical attributes to the barbarian but I do think we will see much more strengh sided attributes. Like the sizemic slam. However I would like to know if they are going to keep the fury skills becuase it was crazy cool to see my dual swords swinging like crazy.
with the ability you're referring to (probably spelled another way but... well!) he smashed the ground and made something like an earth shock towards the target that looked sorta magic in nature.
His blueish globe doesnt have mana either, he has vitality i think.
Well the blizz guys did say that the barb is the same bard from d2 and that they were going to try and tell his story threw the game with what I imagine being class spec quests.
But I have to say if the skills we saw on the gameplay trailer are just a taste. Man I can't wait to see what else the d3 barb can do since he will be my first pick
I hope the Barb gets this skill:
Rupture - the Barb swings his weapon (like in Cleave) striking nearby enemies with such force that their bodies become ruptured, and bleed whenever they move. Deals damage based on distance that the monsters travel.
So the Barb could charge into a group of monsters, Rupture a couple of times, then leap out, and watch all the monster die as they try to come at him, lol.
Pro - good damage, Con - bad on zombies and other slow moving creatures
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Ranger - Ranged Weapon Mastery (fire a bow or javelins like a machine gun!), Traps (MK style!), Pets (lions, tigers, and bears oh my!) - physical damage based
Demonologist - Bone Spells (Necro style!), Avatar (shapeshift into a demon!), Furies (evil spirits that hang around you, giving party bonuses) - mix of physical damage and magic
LEAP ATTACK!!!!! PLAGUE OF TOADS!!!!!
SLOW TIME!!!!!
His age? You're not one of those people that actually think that the Barbarian we're going to play is the same barbarian that we played in Diablo II, right?
No, but the barbarian in Diablo III has a less aggressive voice and fading hair as apposed to the barbarian in Diablo II. Either way, he's older. But yeah, ranged attacks also seem to be a nice addition to the barbarian.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

Nice skill idea, don´t remember seeing anything like this in any game. This idea could possibly be polished but sounds cool. A+
But yeah, ranged attacks also seem to be a nice addition to the barbarian.
Then he has to me the projectile, or at least follow quickly behind. But wait, you could make a trowing Barb in D2... anyone tried that?

He had a ranged attack of sorts before, leap attack. Either way, without potions, you are going to see more skills with all of the classes that deal with moving around.
I think I see a passive side to this barbarian. Rather than being completely rage filled like the D2 barb, he will have a skill tree that also includes things like meditation. This is founded mostly on his age and fading voice that were mentioned earlier. Just a feeling i have

Why can't a heterosexual guy tell a heterosexual guy that he thinks his booty is fly?
It just doesn't, at least to me, make any sense whatsoever if this is supposed to be the very same barbarian as in D2. Did he just mysteriously loose.. well.. everything about himself? From the same region, tribe; Sure. He's essentially the same kind of barbarian. But he can't be THE same barbarian.
Well you wanted my source so here you go in the first min of the vid blizzard tells you that its the same barb
Also It took a lot of time for me to find the same video again so I hope you give me some credit on that instead of saying something with out backing it up
So wether you agree with blizz or not its the same barb (note I'm using a regular speech pattern threw the all reply)
Its going to be interesting to tell the story on an individual characters basis. I understand that different classes will have different class specific quests, but by making the male barbarian the same barbarian from D2, then the female one would have a different storyline, at least slightly.
Also, with different story lines based on class, won't it be much harder to make the co-op gameplay cohesive?

Depends how quests work in d3, as opposed to how they work in WOW.
You might not have the share quest option. But your party could come along anyways.
I love class specific quests, makes the game more unique. Not everyone gets to do the same quests, at least wholely. If the quest is to kill z demon, there is nothing to tstop you from killing that demon without the quest.
If the Barbarian has a quest to kill Ragnard the Unholy, I don't see why the Witch Doctor couldn't come along and offer some support.
If you can share quests like you can in WOW what would be the point to class specific?
But now to talk of the barb in general. I love that it is the same guy from the previous game. It's a nice change fro mthe usual character from previous game is now evil and you have to kill them scenario in other blizzard games, including Diablo II.
I hope his background and cultures are expanded on this time. We didn't even get to see the Barbarian captial of Sescheron last time. That is somewhere I really want to go, esp. as a barbarian, one of my favourite classes in the Diablo series. Or even going to Scosglen as the barbarian, and to see how welcomed he is by the Druids. Qual Kehk didn't seem to look too fondly upon the druid entering Harrogath. I imagine the reverse is probably true.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.

Well it could be that the things he saw and suffered while fighting the Prime Evils scarred him badly. He lost himself, maybe to insanity or depression, and has only recently regained himself. During that time he lost everything and gained many things in return.

Now all we need to know now is if Charsi is the Female Barbarian in game lol.
