I am am playing furious charge speed build and have emulated chainers build and gear as much as possible. I am having a hard time staying alive in TX rifts and bounties. I destroy Torment VIII. Is my damage too low? My leap quake barb is way less geared and laughs at TX. Right now elites melt me almost immediately.
Here are a few other options. My opinion, not a generic fact that you should apply no matter what.
Gold isn't really interesting in TX because you get a LOT of gold in GR. Several hundred million per high GR once you reach a cap. In addition, furious charge is not really dealing well with pick-up radius because you move too fast, leaving a lot of gold behind (or having to go back everytime).
You have some options for DPS :
Vile ward in your cube for instance, would be my first change
I also play with focus and restraint, even if I dropped the spending part (I use war cry instead of boulder). That is not necessarily a good choice though, but I have very good focus and restraint, and somewhat average other rings.
drop wreath of lightning and boon of hoarder for bane of the powerfull and striken. Not necessarily the two, but adapt to find your best compromise and have a good DPS.
You might think increasing your DPS is a bad choice since your problem seems to be toughness, but keep in mind that if you kill elites quicker, there will be a lot less affixes, then less die. I personnaly farm TX with the sage set (I then loose the 6 pieces bonus of IK) without any particular problems, dying once every 3-4 rift in average.
On your glove you can drop cooldown for DCC. I personnaly have strength, vita, cc, dcc).
life per fury spent on your belt would be good also.
drop kymbo's gold for a good helfire amulet as soon as you can.
But I play this one in NS, maybe that explain the difference between your difficulty and mine. Depends on what you want. Farming in T8 can be good if you're quick, especially if you get tons of death breath.
Conclusion : If you die with gold wrap, that pretty much unusual. You could take the ring that increase pick up radius, especially if you're playing without focus and restraint. You can drop unity for this one. If you pick up a lot of gold, you should never ever die, with billions in toughness.Try some of my proposals, check which one you prefer.
This build has always been about killing before getting killed. It is very squishy unless you have the gear for it. I'm assuming this is solo play and not split bounties or group T10 (cause of the unity talk). Even with mostly ancients and pretty high gem levels, there are instances where I will die in split bounties if I'm not careful, like the fire chains affix.
Yes, Vile Ward will help with dps. More targets hit the more damage you do. I would go with that instead of gold wrap. To help with survivability, I would go the route of the GR build with esoteric gem and ancient parthan defenders. Also need more crit chance on jewelry slots and helm.
Not sure how the above poster resets WoTB without boulder toss. Yes, it fulfills the F&R spending part, but the main role of boulder toss is to reset the cooldown on WoTB so you can have it at 100% uptime.
If you are still dying with GR build, you just need better gear. Nerve of Steel passive also helps a lot. Get it with a hellfire ammy or switch out pound of flesh for it. Will slow down your runs, but dying slows down your runs more.
Yeah I never liked that build because of hitting 2 enemies meaning I ended up just standing there waiting for another charge, while the enemy smashed me. Died so many times and I was running pretty much all ancient and really well rolled gear.
If you don't get gold, you are in trouble. If you don't hit a single enemy, Or 3 or more enemies per furious charge, you don't get enough cool down on furious charge to hit again. So you hit 2, get 4 seconds off, and waits for 6 seconds for another charge. So you just hit with boulder toss with pathetic damage while your gold damage wears off and your armor bonus. Then you end up slow and weak. And most of the time you are following behind other who have cleared everything so you don't get the explosion of money everywhere from hoarder. It's just a pain to play with unless you have awesome gear and you make sure you never attack 2 enemies by themselves.
That's why I made the better T10 barbarian speed rift build. It's pretty much a copy of the One Punch Monk. But for that you need some decent ancients though. Ancient Legacy set, Ancient Blade of Tribes, Ancient Dread Iron, and Ancient Skular's. But if you get those, any of the other ancients will do in the other slots.
You would be better off with might of the earth and leaping.
