How high up should leapquake be able to take you in greater rifts and around when should a player start augmenting ancient gear. I have solod GR 68 with leapquake and it seems i can only level my gems to about 65ish at the moment should i augment my level 65 gems now or should i hold them until i can get them higher?
so I would start augmenting now. You probably have at least 1 or 2 ancients that ou can take a look at and say, I'm not going to find a better one anytime soon.
So throw a level 60-65 gem in there. The 300 strength you get is probably a bigger upgrade than going from non-ancient to ancient on a peice of gear.
dont augment the gems you are using, level some gem you'd never use such as moratorium and augment that, since the gem gets consumed. Do speed runs of something a bit lower level, like a GR55 and empower the rifts to quickly get a gem from 1-45 and then you gotta work a little to get it up to Lvl 65/70. Probably not worth empowering a rift above level 60 until your pretty rich. (You get about 200m gold for clearing a solo 75)
and as a bench mark. I started augmenting gems when I could solo 65. I was quickly able to do solo 70s between finding more ancients and having that extra strength, and now have maybe 7 or 8 peices with a +350 str on it and I'm soloing GR 75 pretty easily. I'm going to try to augment every peice before I got back and try to change a +250 strength to a + 400 strength.
one last peice of advice. Upgrade all of one type of gem your never gonna use such as amethysts to royals (second highest stage) and then buy the conversion dust from the peddler in act 2 and convert 9 royals purples to 9 Royal rubies. Quickest way to get the gems you need for the augment.
