I've hit a hard wall at what I can do with my barbarian right now and am getting a bit frustrated, so I was wondering if you all could help me figure out what I can do/improve on to do better.
I'm currently trying to finish GR63 and it's just a bit too hard. I am using Drahque's WW build, but am trying to get a set of rend gear going as well. For reference, here is my character: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Shantred-1401/hero/66770725
Note: It looks like that's a bit out of date. I am currently wearing unity in place of zodiac and have zodiac cubed. I've also switched to Lucani Bracers. It also doesn't have my templar up to date. He has unity, wyrdward, ess of johan, TF, that freezing stun shield.
I'm having trouble seeing where I could possibly make improvements in gear. My problem seems to be both damage and survival. When in GR63, many champions and elites can kill me very quickly while spinning and having ignore pain active. On top of that, it seems the ONLY way I can complete a rift is if it has a conduit and/or power and TONS of weak monsters. Most of my attempts consist of rounding up as many weak monsters as I can and aoeing them down and skipping champions/elites because I kill them SO slowly.
At this point it feels like any progression through GRs is going to be pure luck at this point and that's just not a very fun way to play. I feel like there has to be something more I can do. I'm currently 750 paragon, nearly a hundred levels higher than a LOT of the lower ranked people on the leaderboards. Is there anything I'm doing inherently wrong here? Anywhere I can improve on?
I was recently using zodiac, but switched to Unity for the elite damage. I do still maintain near 100% uptime on ignore pain and berserker. Though, considering how many elites I skip just because of how long they take to kill, I suppose it isn't doing me much good. So you've got a good point, there.
Your life is too low. You should aim for 700k+ life. I would say go for 15% life on your chest. You could use bracers with vitality and a belt with 15% life. Your gloves you should reroll from 20% area damage to 50% crit damage. Maybe get a helmet with vitality instead of 13% ww damage.
gr60+ is where the random maps will make the biggest difference, this is whyi hate doing solo rifts the system is so broken, if u dont get a good map with tons of mobs that u need to kill quick to gain ahead of timer, as killing yellows u should skip not worth it and without luck of pylons and conduit its very hard doing this with a ww build even if its possible but u must spend so many times getting the bad maps before u get the better ones which are what 1 in 50 runs or something ?
I myself cant even cleat 60 in time with my ik weapon doing around 7mil at most depending on crits from pain enhancer etc... so yeah its hard alright
Thanks for the tips, all. I am going to definitely roll for higher CHD on my gloves and try for a better hellfire. I'll also look into rolling into some more vit/life. The struggle has been real with the hellfire though, I've already crafted over 100 between my hota and ww barbs alone and can't seem to get a decent one with a useable passive.
And yet people think that just because someone did gr 65+ it means they are super skilled players.. sadly not but ofc u need a bit of skill to pull through but the game falls flat where its mostly luck on the maps etc which the players cannot control or decide i dont see why how anyone is having fun fishing for good maps its so dull and frustrating and u get so little from doing it.. i prefer doing 4 player rifts instead diablo never was that much fun playing solo, less exp and less fun anyway
