Hey guys, today I want to show you the changes to the (now very powerful) Immortal King's set with a proof of concept pure pet build. I never thought I'd see the day a Barb can solo G40+ without attacking anything, but it's possible and I show it in this video - PermaWrath, Taskers, 45% CotA damage, etc.
Please keep in mind that this is not a final build by any means, but rather an exploration of what a relatively optimized pet-centric build is capable of. At higher tiers Ancients still suffer a quick death by certain affixes, but you can rest assured that some part of the IK set will be used in most Barb builds moving forward - Raekor's, Earthquake, and Wrath. Enjoy and be on the lookout for further optimization and an exploration of various hybrid builds!

Nope, but you didn't miss a chance to troll.
how is that trolling
do you just call anyone a troll to whom that you disagree with. Your build is nothing but standing there doing nothing and you have leap on for some reason. Detox has the exact same build but he actually does something unlike your build. Whats the point of making builds that are not good. Simple adjustments have been made and the video demonstrates GR 50 with ~same gear, but not a brain dead setup. Stop posting useless builds, and either make 1) good "original and viable" content or 2) make adjustments to benchmark builds.
people are not interested in GR 40 builds, people enjoy viable builds over 50 +

Not going to debate your points (plenty of people appear to be interested - and you also must have missed the proof of concept part I talked about multiple times), but it's trolling when someone crosslinks their own content, then bashes you for 'copying' them (he did this on the d3 forums) ... when a) it's posted the exact same day and no one has rights to a build or a video or anything else for that matter.
Anyway, I'm not going to indulge completely off-topic discussions anymore. I said what I wanted and did what I said in return, so please feel free to discuss IK set and the strengths/weakeness of the new Ancients, which is the entire point of this thread/video. Thank you.
Mikhail wanted to show proof of concept (he does that very long as far as I know) showing how much damage the ancients do alone. He should have removed leap and put on nothing for primary skill though just for consistency.
Det0x on the other hand pushed it to the limit with Broken promises ring and implementing Whirlwind (as I would like to do it myself once 2.2 comes live), and it is a nice glimpse for what is possible with the IK set (actually the rend/WW set will have to bring really a lot to the table to beat this...).
Let's see what changes Blizz will implement on everything.
Once again thx to both of you for the great work - I just can't enter PTR to test out some stuff myself, sadly.
They are both good, but their attitudes are shit. Seriously, Mikhail and Det0x have shitty attitudes for no real reason. I like them both, I watch their videos aswell, but when it comes to the forums I have no interests in them simply because they are horribly unfriendly and can't take any sort of trolling without answering with pure evilness. I wouldn't mind you saying something like "Please bring that elsewhere, I only support constructive feedback and actual want to help, ty"
Besides all that, good video Mikhail. I enjoyed it very much!
I personally don't understand why people have to lay claim to particular builds or play styles when I'm guessing thousands of people discover them for themselves every day. Like, I discovered Leapquake for myself back when I got the pieces in early RoS, I didn't have to watch a video, it just made sense. Just because someone made something public for the first time doesn't make you the owner.
Like Mad_Tom said, both videos had their part to play, and both brought up different points and served different purposes. One was for pushing limits, the other for theorycrafting/proof of concept. I personally subscribe/follow many different Diablo players because I enjoy different perspectives and different styles and sometimes just the person.
So please, let's keep the forums as a place for discussion and learning and fun, because this is a game that we all play and most of us enjoy. You can't measure dicks on the internet, so do that on your own time.
det0x, I saw your video first but unfortunately you don't show any rift gameplay.. just the guardian. I don't usually watch mikhail's videos but quin doesn't play anything but monk... so yeah
*edit*
and thats why I dont watch mikhail videos. its gr40. they are just useless information.
Ha...Ha...Ha...you guys think you are the top dogs of Diablo cus ur on Diablofans.com....Ha....Ha...Ha....well theres millions of players out in China, Asia in general, Europe, and even in NA with gear, items, paragon, that Blow all this shit out of the water....theres always a bigger fish
However, yes it is trolling and bad form to link to your own thread as a reply in someone else's thread. Threads should contain only responses having to do with that thread. Meathead typically has had a lot of informative videos as other people have, enough for all
Mikhail saved me a lot of time wasted on the PTR with this video, so I gotta thank him. What I do want to test, however is the Bastion set with the exact same ideea, It should be a lot better but being a lazy ass mofo, I'll just wait for Mikhail to see how it works or the changes to go live so I will.
Thanks, and that's the whole point of these videos - test and report back. I'll admit it bugs me to some extent (though I'm becoming more and more immune to it) when people say 'this is a crappy build' or something similar, when I mention - in the FIRST MINUTE OF THE VIDEO - that it's not a complete build but rather a demo of what X does. You just have to spell it out several times for some people I suppose.

WRT your comment about Asians (Koreans?) being better at games - generally speaking higher APM, the majority of it has to do with their training regimen. There's just no replacement for nonstop deliberate practice day in and day out. A lot of those pro players live in gaming houses where they basically sleep-practice-sleep-practice, with/against each other, etc. It's a very dedicated atmosphere, to the point where a number of teams outside of Asia have sent players there to train with them and they come back a lot better.
There may be some degree of natural proclivity, but that's debatable and unproven. The only fact is that (on average) most of those pro players just practice more than everyone else.
Seeing alot of hate here so just jumping in here to thank you Mikhael for these videos. I can't really test this stuff as I play from EU so the ping is just horrible and the current wait time to get into the servers doesn't help.
Keep the videos coming
You're welcome. PTR is global, so it doesn't matter if you're in EU as far as queue is concerned (latency may be a different story). Quick tip if you don't know already: cycle through the difficulties and check the queue. For me, in US it's usually Expert that's the shortest (about 10-15 minute wait while I check emails). Then just pop into G25 if you want T6 equivalent. Not as 'cool' as chaining normal rifts, but most people who frequent forums care about grifts anyway so it works out. You can still test everything.
Thx Mikhail for the awesome video, very funny to see only Ancients doing the dirty work
Could you actually test if the Remorseless Ancients work with the 4pc and 6pc bonus? Doubt they do, but if so would be awesome.
I actually would love to see 6pc sets for every spender, Seismic Slams and HotA are completly forgotten nowadays, and could be so much fun with proper sets supporting them.
I'll put it on the to-do list. Something tells me they won't work though - just a hunch, considering they are not the same as 'Call of the Ancients', but rather just weapon-proc spawns, similar to the Maximus demon, etc.
I can save ya the time Mik. The ancients do NOT respond to any of the IK bonuses, Call of the Ancients spell, CotA Damage bonuses on gear or + Elemental damage in any way. Tested it on the PTR a few nights ago. Normal ancients were critting around 50 mil, the spawned ones were around 8 mil and didn't appear to have the splash damage.
Edit: according to Tactiks, the Remorseless ancients do proc the splash, but I wasn't seeing it at all. I'll check again tonight when I get home and report my findings here.
Interesting video Mikhail. As I haven't been able to get on PTR as every time I try the queue timer only goes up, never down :-( so I really appreciate those of you in the D3 community give us all some insight.
I would like to give you some constructive criticism however. These are my opinion and what I prefer to see in a video so take it for what it's worth.
1. Don't play while discussing the build. Record the game play footage and then create your discussion track over it later. When you play while recording the discussion it ends up becoming broken up as you lose your train of thought and use substitute words cause of the time pressure.
2. Write a script, even if it's just a basic outline so that your thoughts are better organized and communicated. I realize this is a time consuming step, but from my perspective when winging it the video becomes jumbled and disjointed and I end up having to watch it several times over (and sometimes even have to take notes) to get the full picture. This maybe just a personal issue with the way my brain works but I personally find the D3 youtubers who do this much more enjoyable to watch and learn from.
3. Either overlay screen shots of the items and build selection or keep them on screen for longer. Often times you talk about an item and it's affixes assuming that the viewer knows exactly what you are talking about. While that's likely true having the item/skill on screen so it's easy to see for the viewer only makes things better.
I hope you take my feedback in the spirit it was given. I appreciate your videos and I enjoy learning from them.
Thanks, I'll still test it myself (if I still have the weapon from S1, will have to check), but let me know what you find. Again, my inclination is that summoned Ancients are 'procs' and therefore don't benefit from anything.
@Belakor:
Thanks for the feedback, but there's something I want you (and others) to understand. My channel is different from a number of others in that I upload a video every day. Since I started the channel over a year ago, I missed 1 day - the birth of my son. It has grown and become successful because people expect to see daily content, and as a result the post production has to be put on the backburner. Are there better, more structured, videos for D3 than mine? Absolutely! But as for the same quantity + overall quality? Debatable.
What I'm trying to say is that while I strive to be concise and precise and (in some cases) have an outline for what I discuss, it's never completely pre-scripted with a bunch of fancy overlays. There's a reason videos like that are uploaded once a week/once every 2 weeks - because it takes so long to make them. There are only so many hours in a day and I want to share as much as possible with the (always improving) quality I'm capable of providing. That is the balance I've struck and I intend to continue following it. Cheers!
Well with the removal of the Drop buff, I wasn't able to get another Remorseless last night to re-test the IK bonus with procced ancients. I'm of the same opinion that procs shouldn't proc spells, but at the same time I have always wanted the item to enhance the ancients build more than it does.
Thanks, I'll still test it myself (if I still have the weapon from S1, will have to check), but let me know what you find. Again, my inclination is that summoned Ancients are 'procs' and therefore don't benefit from anything.

I wasn't intending to compare your quality in a negative sense. I completely understand what you are saying and why you are doing them the way you are. I honestly was just trying to provide constructive feedback.
I totally get how much time goes into making a video and I'll continue watching your videos regardless cause as I said I do appreciate them and learn from them.
