I'm pretty new here, well just a new member. I've been visiting the site for quite some time now.
I've recently been lucky enough to run the Tal Rasha & Vyr set, both with the 4 set bonus. I've tried numerous builds on T6 and all of them seem to fail a bit. With my current gear that is. However I've played around a bit and come up with this Frozen orb build which kinda works really well :D.
T6 takes a while, about 13-15mins and T5 isnt a problem about 12mins or so. Below you can find a link to my profile. Now I dont have the best gear and there are definitely a few items I can improve on. My secondaries aren't the best either. But somehow I can pull off T6 just fine.
Can some one else with better gear take a look at my profile and build and maybe try out the build? and come up with some feedback. I'd really like to see this build be used more on T6.
Thanks for the feedback. But like I said. My gear isnt great and I know I need another weapon, more CDR and more pieces with +cold dmg etc. I know I need to change my bracer( bit expensive now getting to the 1m per reroll). I didnt make this thread for people to comment on the gear. I actually want some one with the ideal gear. Enough CDR lots of +cold dmg just to try out the build on T6 and see if it is viable to do T6 on and come back with some feedback.
I dont want people to focus on the gear I have, i want them to try out the build with the correct gear and then give some feedback on the build.
Thanks for the advice :), I agree with Helycon. Unwavering will is pretty awesome, especially when fighting mobs I can nuke them down pretty quickly while standing still. Deflection helps a lot together with prismatic armour.
Just one thing Helycon, you say I have low AR? when standing still with unwavering will my AR averages about 2k? is that low? should it be much higher?
I know my armour is low and should try to get a bit more. But for now I think the best will be to use Aughild bracers and shoulders to get the set bonus. I just had pretty bad luck with crappy rolls so far.
Otherwise I think the build itself works pretty well and urge anyone with better gear and more cold+ dmg to try it out.
Still waiting for someone that actually tried this build ^^
I need some advice on wizard build options as I currently have so many options to consider.
My current build is a MM build with unbuffed dps of 1mil, buffed dps of 1.3 ( cold ) and with harringtons boost, 134% on top of that. It’s a very easy build to play with no cooldown/thinking/fuss. The only downside I have is I never use my secondary skill ( disintegrate ) as my MM is far better and free which is something I had not planned for but has become the case. Procwise, the MM, PowerWave, Explosive blast, and Frost Nova all work beautiful with the Tal Rasha meteors for all 4 elements.
Question 1. My build currently has a 23% Cold damage boost ( I noticed on the details screen ), lightning, fire and arcane have 5%. I recently picked up a Thunderfury and re-rolled the damage on it as it was poor. I ended up with a good lightning roll. Does the Cold damage boost of 23% apply to the thunderfury damage ?. Is it worth me spending a fortune to try to re-roll the Thunderfury lightning damage to cold damage ? Nb. The cold boost currently helps my MM - glacial spikes + mirrorball so I’d like to keep the cold boost as it is.
Question 2. I recently picked up a number of Vyr, Tal and Firebird items. Using the RORG, I can now use multiple sets. One possible build which takes advantage of the 3 sets is :
Proposed
Helm : Firebird ( with +500 int + any set 3 bonus Blizzard introduce in the future )
Shoulders : Firebird ( with +500 int + any set 3 bonus Blizzard introduce in the future )
Chest : Tal Rasha ( with all bonuses up to set 4 - Meteors )
Belt : Tal Rasha ( with all bonuses up to set 4 - Meteors )
Amulet : Tal Rasha ( with all bonuses up to set 4 - Meteors )
Gloves : Vyr ( with all bonuses up to set 4 - Archon )
Pants : Vyr ( with all bonuses up to set 4 - Archon )
Boots : Vyr ( with all bonuses up to set 4 - Archon )
Bracers : Warzachian or Aughilds or other to boost Fire, Cold, Arcane, Lighning ( lots of good options in my stash )
Weapon : Thunder Fury ( lightning damage )
Off-hand : Mirror Ball
Current ( which I find so easy to play )
Helm : Tal Rasha ( with all bonuses up to set 4 - Meteors )
Amulet : Tal Rasha ( with all bonuses up to set 4 - Meteors )
Chest : Tal Rasha ( with all bonuses up to set 4 - Meteors )
Shoulders : Aughilds ( with set 3 bonus - greater damage and some damage reduction to/from elites )
Bracers : Aughilds ( with set 3 bonus - greater damage and some damage reduction to/from elites )
Belt : Harrington Waist Guard with +134% damage boost, Gold Wrap for armor or Witching hour for a relatively small but permanent dps boost.
Gloves : Firebird ( with +500 int + any set 3 bonus Blizzard introduce in the future )
Pants : Firebird ( with +500 int + any set 3 bonus Blizzard introduce in the future )
Boots : Ice Climbers ( immuned to immobilization effects and freeze which is my biggest cause of death )
Weapon : Thunder Fury (lightning damage )
Off-hand : Mirror Ball
Would such a 3 set build improve upon my current spamming build ?. One concern I have is the survivability reduction and cooldown overheads that will inevitably result from such a build. I have read many forums where people complain about the Archon cooldown being too long despite maxing out CDR from other items. This will be an even bigger problem for me as only one or two items have CDR. However, I do have an item in my stash that reduces cooldown by 51 secs but if I use that, will take a dps and toughness hit. Having to give up Ice Climbers is also a bummer. I just love these boots allowing me to run towards and run away from trouble at my choosing.
I currently play and kill quite easily on T3/T4 but I feel my current damage may not good enough for T5/T6. In terms of survivability, I very occasionally die in T3 ( 1 in 15 games ) only when trapped in dungeon corners by lots of enchanted monsters casting the wall spells and when teamwork in the public game I am playing is lacking.
Anyone tried this mixed set build with success or have any insight into these builds ?
