My goal in mind is to create a chracter either a barbarian or a monk and have them stack magic find gear. It will be in a setting of 1-4 people and it will be in ACT 1 only for the most part, maybe act 2 but no futher then that. It will be for the purpose of running with the stream to get everyone better gear.
So the big questions are,
1. What would be the easiest to gear?
2. Which would be the easiest to clear ACT 1/2 with solo or in a group?
3. Which one would be overall cheaper to gear out.
I am thinking those classes because it will probably be necessary to be a tank with the magic find gear on. And those can survive the best with the least amount of gear.
I've played both and personally prefer the Barb playstyle both Tank and WW/Tornado spec over the monk style of play. Both will work, but I think you underestimate what other classes can handle in terms of MF farm sets. I play with a Wizard who's farm spec has 325% MF + with stacks, and his DPS is through the roof. A DH who runs 250%+ MF and does really well as well. Both through Act 3.
The cost and clear questions really do come down to what you enjoy playing playstyle wise. Act 1 is easy to clear with low resists 400-600 is all you need really and Act 2 you are going to want 700-900.
I run in farm gear right now that is 250+ MF and can farm act 2 full clears in about 2 hours start to finish and thats probably slower then most on my Barb (I suffer from clean plate syndrom in terms of vendoring most my blues, turning over all the bodies ). When I was in a tank spec I was clearing in double the time and with 310+ MF. I'll take the 2ish hour full clears with a little less MF anyday.
Anyway I'm rambling at this point, but in all just play what you enjoy the most, gearing is all going to be about the same, maybe a little harder for Monks with weapons (want faster weps, fists or daggers) which tend to run a little more. You can put together a relatively decent MF farming set for 5-10 million depending how smart you are with your spending and listings.
Monk is alright, but Barb is (at least at the moment) much more viable. There are many specs which (using some very decently priced gear) can handle their own VERY effectively. The Overpower/Reflects damage spec with a decent amount of LOH can make you nearly impossible, while the sprint/WW build is EXTREMELY effective for soloing because you can get around unbelievably quickly, making your farming runs that much faster, while also allowing you to get past non-elites much more effectively.
I would suggest the sprint/ww build with sword and board (MF and lots of crit chance on shield) and you can solo farm extremely effectively, and simply switch to either the revenge spam build or the overpower/reflects build when grouping.
Just make sure you're smart with your gearing, don't try to get strength AND vit on every piece. Check out Kripp's budget barb guide for an idea of how to get good barb gear for a decent price.
Now, all this could change come 1.0.4, and monk could very potentially become more effective, so be aware of that.
And really more important than anything else is make sure you choose the one you'll have more fun playing

Easiest/cheapest would be to let someone in proper tank gear tank, and gear a caster that doesn't take any hits at all in glass-cannon magicfind gear. DH, for example.
1 - they both require a lot of resist and loh to be really good but for a1/2 it doesn't matter
2 - in a group they're about the same, solo ww barb can sprint past everything to the elites to farm ultra fast (though in MF you might not want to skip much trash)
3 - they're both very expensive to gear well but for a1/2 you don't really need gear at all, most of the cost will come from the MF affix

I want around 250+ mf with 5 stacks of NV.
