So, 1.12. It made it possible to play the game without the CD and without using a third-party program. Well, it didn't work, so I went to the help site and it said to copy the music MPQ's from the LoD CD (and possibly the vanilla play CD) to my Diablo II folder. I tried it, I get about half an inch of progress on my progress bar, and then it just pauses for a long time and then proceeds to tell me that there is no CD in my drive.
How old and/or scratched is your CD? My CD did similar things because it was older and scratched etc.
Have you tried using Battle.net's digital download service? I've got all my games registered so thankfully I don't have to go back to my CDs.

Also read Wintendo, as DINGBANG is attempting to play through 764 SNES games in a back catalog.
I have the same problem hammy. I never got it. I was never able to play the game without a disk.

Yeah, I got that far. And I upgraded to full installation from LoD prompt. I guess I'll try the download version, then. Yeah, all my D2 sets are pretty...bad. Just would have been nice if it just worked for once. Thanks for your help, everybody.
