So the first thing I did when I saw the new background was yell "Holy crap that's amazing!" but then I quickly realized that this can be a problem. I am lagging way too much on this background and I am wondering if anyone is too.
And also, the whit background around the quick posts needs to go.
I usually use Mozilla FireFox or Google Chrome as browsers, and I didn't notice anything, but I just tried with Internet Explorer, and it seems to be heavy to scroll down, and notice some kind of lag, yes... But it's going really well on the 2 others.
I don't know which browser you're using, but if I was you I'd try if it does the same on the another one.
And I agree about the white background around the Quick reply, it hurts! haha

Yeah, there are quite a few issues going on since this is very new and has a lot of work that needs to be done. I am not experiencing any lag of any sort but if it's a real issue for many of you I think the background image should just be scrapped for a solid background color, honestly, to match the maroon.
I love the new setup. I have no log at all. Good job to the designers!
Seth, who can I give rep to for such a great transformation??

The Curse network did this latest layout. You could give it to DoranM, I guess. He seemed to be the main Curse worker that was in to the Admin CP a lot of the time and he announced it in the staff forum.
Yeah the background is great, and I don't have any lag, what browser are you using, and what version, deathmars?
I tried with Mozilla Firefox 3.5, Google Chrome 4.0, and Internet Explorer 8.0, and there's only on IE that it seems a bit heavier when I scroll down, but it's running well and without a bit of lag in both Chrome and Firefox.

No lag here.. perhaps you aren't using Firefox, or better yet, Chrome? No problems on either of those (though Chrome is a little faster here).
The white textbox is probably a missing file in the skin dir somewhere. I've worked with/admin'd many a forum running vBulletin and can tell you new skins/layouts rarely work perfectly from the get go. There are almost always small to medium adjustments that have to be done, from the logos/frames being off by a few pixels to missing image files to wrong colors in places.
I'll say again that I like the new layout a lot, and am sure it will be polished over the next week by whichever admin's job it is to do that.
Using chrome here and no background lag for me. I love the new back round but if it causes people to lag that is unfortunate. I hope this is just a symptom of the age of the background and the lag issue will resolve its self ones it background matures.
If your lagging on this websites background, how do you expect to play diablo 3?

The white background in the reply boxes does need to go. I agree.
In due time. Today is day 1. Weird that they didn't see this while they tested though (assuming they tested it before publishing it)

Stay awhile, and listen.
And don't take me wrong. I love the new design. I just hate the damn white reply boxes.
fast
simple
googly
That really narrowed it down. Can someone else tell me what's so good about it?
Right there on the page Seth linked you to. Faster and easier
Hahaha. He'll have to play a slideshow..
