I don't know how this stuff works but if I don't basically start a character right at the seasons start and play 20 hours a day or something as well as playing the most efficient possible which as I understand it is the only way to be on the leaderboards then whats the point in me playing a seasonal character at all? I'm not a very good player and just play the game for fun.
stupid question. it's like "is there a point in playing a game?", or "is there a point in listening to music?". if you like it, do it. if not, don't. easy. but not so much for young people nowadays, they seem to need guidance from anonymous people on the internet, lol.
Yeah but if theres no difference between seasonal and non seasonal other than the leaderboard then i'd just play my high levels I already have of each class.
Its not a stupid question...there a few specific season only items that wont drop if you aren't playing a season char. After seasons end they will be put in hype normal item pool though.
TBH i see your pain aswell becuase theres no way in hell that any casual gamers are going to get onto the leader boards i mean if people exploit to get to 70 for leaderboards when people try to play normaly then weres the fun you cant beat them becuase they always exploit the game yes its nice to start anew but when your trying beat other people who *CHEAT* then you will never get ranked up on the boards,
I started season character 8 minuets after the servers went up 4 hours later someone hit 70 from 0.... 0-o i mean really how can a Fair player who deosnt cheat suppost to compete agianst someone in lvl 40 gear at 70 who can get exp out of nowhere? what i mean by this is on the EU season start a player hit 70 solo i believe with 5 peices of crafted 40 gear and nothing else higher all the way to 70 in 4 hours and i wasnt even 30 admitidly he was on SC and me HC but still thats just stupidly fast for anyone with a clean character plus no exp gem in head.
Plz tell me if i can ever win agianst somone who deos that

Yes, you can. Took me 6 hours to get to 70, no exploits, and I've been playing a mix of just myself, and my buddy. Sometimes 3 people but not often.
I haven't played a single game of split farming, or normal farming, or have been given free rift guardian kills, or loot share games, and I've played a rough estimate of 30 hours since the patch.
I've gotten to paragon 105 or so, and since last night's BoP drop and the new condemn shield the other day, I can now solo T6, without akkhans. (I'm a sader obviously). When I get home I'm going to try to rank on the leaderboards. I actually ranked on a Grift 15 the other day, with a horrible hammers build.
My point is you can defiantly be competitive without exploits. Don't worry about other people and have fun.
There are seasonal only achievements, seasonal transmogs for hitting 70, seasonal legends that won't be available to anyone else until after th season stops, so there ARE reasons, question is, are they your reasons?
What everyone else has said, plus it lets you really start from scratch. Trying to level with a totally different build then I did on my main has been my main attraction.
The main attraction is a fresh start. But if you haven't spent a colossal amount of time playing your regular character(s) (e.g. all at level 70 and well-geared) then that fresh start may not be at all attractive to you.
stupid question. it's like "is there a point in playing a game?", or "is there a point in listening to music?"
That question is not like asking, "Is there a point in playing a game?" or "Is there a point in listening to music?" His question is more along the lines of, "Is there a point in buying a digital deluxe edition?" or "Is there a point in using Spotify instead of Pandora?"
Aye, I might give it a go in S2, especially with all the new sets. Wish they would offer more for playing it. The season set for example looks super bad in my opinion, and a cooler transmog would have me covered. We shall see in the future.
Is this a reflection of the current ptr patch, a Blizz announcement or a shot in the dark?!
I know of no reason why the new sets won't make it into the game.
They will make it into the game, just not for Season 2 / Patch 2.1.2.
Pretty sure they confirmed it - "The new Set items shown during our BlizzCon panel are currently designed to be available to all heroes, regardless of whether they are Seasonal. That said, I do want to clarify that these items will not be coming in patch 2.1.2; they’re scheduled to arrive in a later patch (no date to share just yet)." (source @Post #90))
