Hi, I have searched for the answers to these questions but haven't found anything solid so I figured I'd ask them myself
First off, when doing a rift, I've read that it's best to just clear to the rift guardian and then once you've killed it, go back to town and start another one? Is this really the preferred method? I was under the assumption that the higher chance to receive legendaries while in a rift would make it better to do a full clear?
Additionally my other question is about destructible items. Is it worth breaking vases and checking corpses/weapon racks? I know ive received legendary items from these before but I'm not sure if it's a waste of time destroying them all while I'm rifting or not.
Thanks for any light that you guys could shed on this subject! I'd like to maximize the efficiency of my runs so I can finally get the rest of my set pieces
First question : Its all preference, if you have plenty of Rift Key Fragments then opening a new one is arguably better (more Rift Guardians per hour = more Bloodhards - more loot) but if oyu're running low and don't enjoy bounties, fully clearing to get the most out of your RKF is probably best.
Second question : Well the drop rates are much lower from destructables; so I guess it depends how quickly you can do it; or at least, how little time you waste doing it. Some builds will have passive damage going out (Storm Armour for example) which will destroy them for you; others you might have to take some time to manually smash them - if that is the case its probably not worth your time.
Yeah its a tricky question, no doubt I've found plenty of legendaries in destructables; but I've also smashed LOTS; so.... Try and work a way into your build where you're smashing everything in sight passively; guess thats the best way

like the other people said, its really what you are looking to do.... since often times i bring along other people on my runs to help them level (between level 60 - 70) - i tend to close rifts as soon as possible. this is especially easy with the amazing RIF community, so rift frags arent an issue. the bonus as it has been said of closing rifts asap is to get more blood shards, and to get more experience. so i guess the easy answer is:
a) close them asap if you want to level / get shards faster - assuming rift fragments arent an issue
clear them if your running low on rift frags - which shouldnt really happen IMHO since you can do the RIF thing
c) *i do tend to clear certain areas even after the RG if they are worth it (that giant dungeon thing comes to mind)
i'm not considering chests here, (which you should always open)... but regarding vases, corpses, etc - i balance out the fact that i personally find so many things from destructibles with the time it takes to actually go break them. i tend to hit the things that dont require me to actually go out of my way - like vases, and ignore corposes and other things that make me have to actually click on them. since most of my builds have some massive AOE skill (multishot, flashfire, frozen orb, dash, etc), i tend to spam these in maps as much as i can and see what pops out - but i dont run across a screen to kick over a corpse.
hope this helps

If you want blood shards then close the rift immediately. Otherwise you should probably clear the whole rift to minimize the number of bounties you need to do as legendaries/hr in rifts are significantly higher than outside of rifts.
As for breakables, I kick over corpses, open chests, etc. Most of the rest comes from TF procs and AoE splash. Spells like Frozen Orb, Acid Rain, etc. are pretty solid for "breaking things while primarily trying to kill monsters." If you are interested in breaking more things while still keeping your focus on killing monsters, look up a build that has some kind of large indiscriminant AoE like that.
