Hi guys just have a question about farming the ring. I've been doing t3 for a couple days after the new patch but opened roughly 20+ caches didn't get the ring. So should I do it on higher difficulty? Or do it on normal since that's way faster.
actually 1 more question, if i claim the cache on my monk but open with another class, will the ring be dex or inte? thx a lot!!
I personally find it that farming speed far outweighs bonus drop chance in this case.
You could try dropping to T1 to keep the chance for t-only legendaries.
Split farm act 1 in a group of 4 people on normal difficulty. It is the most efficient way; and there will be plenty of people farming for it too who should be happy to help.
Ah okie, but I doubt will it still drop on normal caches? Since 2.05 has nurfed drops on higher difficulty. Thx a lot for the advice!
There are no nerfed drops on higher difficulty and there's no reason to suspect that they've changed anything about farming caches on normal difficulty. The normal caches still drop the ring.
It will still drop in normal caches, but you have to be patient. I did 20 caches and got it on my wizard. I can't remember how many caches I've opened on my crusader and it still hasn't dropped.

ah okie, thx a lot ill try it on normal. spent me a lot of time on t3 but i was really upset it didnt drop
I have done 75-80 cache runs on T2/T3 in Act 1 and Act 4 on my DH with still no RORG. This is driving me crazy! Prior to the patch I have done over 100 cache runs on normal in act 1.
Am I just the unluckiest? I still need to find a RORG on my crusader after as well =(
I have gotten one on my Monk, Barb, and Wizard so I have had fairly good luck. To answer the question about farming on one char to give to another...the stats are determined when you get it and not when it is opened...so if you farm it on a monk it is most likely to have dex due to the smart loot system but nothing is guaranteed.
(Edit: As further replies state the above information I posted appears to be incorrect as it is either out dated or based off incorrect assumptions)
As far as difficultly goes I usually split farm torment 1 or 2, my clan mates and myself can do it fast enough and it allows for better drops besides the cache, the cache itself doesn't matter what you farm it on.

Are you completely sure on this. My evidence is very different; having farmed up enough cache legendaries for alts. The class that opens it is the smart-loot option. Not saying this is so; just stating my experiences mirror yours.
Yes, my level 10 crusader got it yesterday. My wizard did T1 bounties on act 1 and my young crusader on a second account got it staying in town after say less than 20 bounties. It is only a level 16 ring though and my wizard who did all the kills didn't get anything. My wizard is quite well geared already and would like to have some improvement on her RoRG, and I don't know whether equipping a RoRG will lower her chance of getting another one. I have helped and witnessed quite some new characters to get RoRG in bounty runs, but not a second RoRG for her so far, coincidence?

you are correct Aeneas, Opening the cashe on a barb with give you str items even if you farmed on a wizard, with exception to when smart loot doesnt kick in...

This statementmight beincorrect. I have had two rorgs drop while on my Monk. The first rorg was int and the other was str. Please note that the rorgs dropped for me last patch. I do not know if smart loot affects caches in the current patch.

To the best of my knowledge, I believe caches are subject to smart-drop rules, but (as with everything) a smart drop is not guaranteed. Your situation looks to me more like a pair of non-smart drops rather than an indication that caches are not influenced by that system.
