I stepped away from Diablo due to lack of time shortly after RoS came out, and now this patch seems to have changed a lot. The big community event starting shortly seems like a great time to start working on a character. My only question is that I have no idea what classes are strong right now. I have most classes close to 70, but have almost no gear on any so ideally a class that has good early performance but incredible growth would be ideal. Some guidance on gearing/paragon point usage would be much appreciated. I generally dislike threads like this, so I apologize, just not sure where to start.

If you like melee I'd say Crusader just got some major reshaping, if you like to sit back the WD is really strong with pet builds and not as gear dependent to remain viable.

But seriously, do what you like. I do mostly DH and WD but I like the Crusader and Wizzy, do what make you happy.
