My experiences so far with 2.0 regarding seeing legendaries falling and efficient gameplay!
(Before you read my observations keep in mind that I take all factors into account like dieing, hitting breakables, speed of farm, time to kill elites, things that most would say don't matter at all)
1. Do not die - it effects your drops! Why? T2 was dropping legs at a steady pace, I was not dieing at all , i had stacks of pools and was going at a steady pace - I went to T3, and though I'm still competitive, I'm not seeing as many leg drops! I'm going at almost the same pace but I'm dieing from those tougher affix elites! Call me a conspiracy theorist but I am believe 110% that being able to survive the content falls into how the game rewards you for playing
2. Killing from too far a distance - Just watching and paying attention to what kinds of items drop is important when you are killing. I've noticed that when you kill an elite from slightly off the screen you either get nothing at all or blue drops. Don't stray too far from your opponent for the kill!
3. Try to kill and break everything. I've gotten legs off check corpses and from pots. Do it all!
#3 is absolutely true, #1+#2 are conspiracy theories and not true. The only reasons not to die are 1) if you have an experience pool or shrine effect, 2) playing hardcore, or 3) saving repair cost. The latter isn't true if you have Zakara shoulders You lose efficiency but who cares? I was playing with people in a group who were dead all the time and they found more legendaries than I did, so I can create the opposite conspiracy theory if you want. Also, if drops that are too far away don't drop anything any ranged class would be screwed...
Since 2.0.1, every time I manage to kill an elite/unique/boss off-screen, I either get a legendary or a rare item with near-perfect rolls. I also found out that when playing in Torment dificulty, if you die too much, you see more legendaries and more rares with near-perfect rolls. This is probably the game's way to help you advance for higher difficulties.
I've been playing for a long time (as have most of you) but my #1 and #2 have been tried and true since launch. Take or leave
Uh, leave it. Leave it easily. This is just hearsay, unsubstantiated and not backed by any kind of evidence from Blizzard. What you are experiencing is a combination of RNG and confirmation bias.

i would choose my own religion and worship my own spirit, but if he ever preached to me i wouldn't want to hear it. i'd drop him, a forgotten god, languishing in shame; and then if i hit stormy seas, i'd have myself to blame.
Morning Diablo Fans!
