I have a question concerning area damage. Well my first question is, can area damage trigger a critcal hit?
I have a wizard and I really rely on critical hits to regen my arcane power. By default, area damage is 0%. So by putting 1 point into area damaga, it gets to 1% so 20% of the time, it will make 1% area damage to enemy near by. I don't really need the damage itself, i need the critical hit (if it does crits...)
So if area damaga critical hit, i would put 1 point into area damage (to gain damage out of it), and put my other points into things like aracane regen.
Does that make sense to you? What are your toughts ?
AFAIK Area damage itself can't crit, but it DOES interact with crit, because if the attack the procced it was a crit, it will splash the crit damage.
So say you have 50% crit, 100% crit damage and 50% splash
a normal hit would do 100, a crit would do 200, a splash attack would do 50 if the attack that procced it was a normal hit or 100 if the hit that procced it was a crit.
