i got a plvl100 WD, i'm less than thrilled about the damage that they've been reducing on their skills and such, so i'm not 100% sure i'm gonna stick with that til i get some play time in. either way, i'll start by getting my WD to 70 and learning the new content / story. that saturday, LAN at my brothers house, and we're all gonna start crusaders. if i like the crusader more than my WD, i'll switch to crusader
Oops! I meant four! I'm such a bad wizard :(. However...I am more drawn to fire/ice/lightning more than arcane in general :). I never really cared for arcane in any sort of game. The three (fire/frost/lightning) reminds me of old D2 with my three sorc of different elements.
It's all good, dude, no sweat. I mean, I can tell by the changes they made to the Wizard that they definitely want to make the Wizard class a spiritual successor to the Sorceress, or else bare minimum, have the Wizard's skills pay some homage to her and make the magic styles appear to be from the same school.
What I love about D3, though, is that it'll be a lot easier to customize mixtures. From what I remember about D2, most Sorceresses, for example, had to specialize in one element. I almost always wanted to be at least a dual element, but it was really difficult to get endgame spreading your skill points out that far. But of course...if you specialize in only one element, especially in solo play, you'd hit a massive wall when you met WHITE MOBS with elemental immunities. But in D3, you'll be able to customize your elemental preferences how you like.
Although...and I could be wrong...but I felt like, in some small ways, elites on the PTR with specific elemental affixes felt like they had ever so slight elemental resistances. I can't remember if it was fighting Thunderstorm elites with my Lightning Monk, or Frozen elites with my Ice Wizard, but it felt like some attacks weren't as effective. Could just have been my imagination.
First I'll try all the possible skill combinations with my Wizard and see what I can achieve with "Archon Gear" in the new patch. If I start finding some good upgrades (MP 5-6 material) for my alternates, then I might play some with them.
Can finally go back to playing my DH without feeling the dread of bolashot/trap spam that cause medicore DPS even with over 300k paper dps. Other finishers and builder finally being on par with other classes ability for a change. I love using Bows in real life, i want to use bows in the god damn game again, you know shooting arrows, it was hard to make DH finally able to use spells that SHOOT arrows again, but it finally happened.
I'll be keeping my main character, my Barbarian. It's the only class I've put any serious time into.

I started as a barb when D3V got released , rerolled to Monk , this time I will stick with both.
I am in love with the Barbarian after the new changes.
Also monk is the best support class in the game and I love playing as a support class when I have a full group.
When RoS comes out I will also play Crusader because I will be finding gear for barb and crusader but I will always stick with Monk/Barb as mains.
My original main was a monk that I sort of abandoned. This was partly due to Vanilla D3/AH exaustion and partly because I wanted to get into Hardcore (where I play a Witch Doctor and Barbarian). I'll probably start a new monk, hardcore, and get it leveled to 60 between now and Launch. That being said, I don't consider any of my characters a main anymore, hardcore will do that.

oh def. There was no such thing as dual trees. ONLY if you were to go for teleport and many MINOR spells, but never tons of skills in a different branch. That is nice in d3 I will say. I just miss teleporting and pew pewing. Also on d2 expansion you could get some item for your follower that pretty much makes things not immune to your school of magic, but it was very very pricy. I only had one, I couldnt afford another for other toons :(. I agree though, I think there is some natural resistance...which makes sense, but kinda sucks. (I felt the same).
Hard to say. Haven't gotten to test the crusader yet. Will probably still play wizard the most, but I think I will play Barb a lot more than before.
I know I won't play monk much, it is just boring to play IMO. DH is also a class I don't really enjoy.
However, with all the fancy legendary affixes - even boring classes can end up fun with the right build.

It depends on what they do/did to barb.

Will also be trying HC for the first time since D2, not sure which class yet though. May do Monk.....
Anyways I'm going to start as a wizard.

If you don't know me, know that I'll be going in with my wizard.
But I also have all my other classes leveled and geared, so I should be able to play any of them whenever I feel like changing scenery.
