Unlike vanilla Diablo where I read a ton of stuff, watched videos and participated in the beta, now Im trying to limit the amount of exposure I am getting for RoS. I want the game to feel new, and see stuff for the first time. With that being said, I also want to make sure I am preparing for the expansion with what I can at this point.
Gaining Paragon xp right now is high on the priority list, and from what I understand, a lot of gold isn't necessary. I have about 300 million gold and figure that will be good for quite a while. If I am wrong on those, please let me know. My question would be for crafting materials. I know there are new ones etc, but does that mean all of the existing ones are gone? Is there any point to gather Iridescent Tears? Essence? Tomes? Brimstomes? Demonic Essence?
I think most, if not all crafting materials will be useless after level 60. The only thing I plan on carrying over is just gold. I'm selling off all of my items and whatever doesn't sell I will melt down. But that's just me, I'm removing all of the AH stain from my account (OK, not the gold, but all of the items).
Also, what about white items? Should I be trying to gather them as well?
The current build on PTR seems to salvage 5+ common debris from each white, so I don't think it's necessity like it was when they each only gave one, but I also don't think it would hurt. I'm not in beta so I don't know if common debris is still used in post 60 crafting.

No common debris is NOT used past level 60. A different white material is used (can't remember the name though) for everything 61+.

The best way to prepare, in my opinion, is to copy over your characters to the PTR and see where your current heroes stack up against the new difficulties. That way you can jump in ready to roll. You get paragon pretty quickly in RoS, so building it up now would only be useful if you really want a P100 character before that goes away.

Thanks!
I'm preparing by doing silly achievements like Wheel of Misfortune.;)
