For those who don't know me, I am KageKaze. I create guides and tutorials on YouTube for several games and even have a newer "Diablo Digest" podcast for D3. I take a look at the current news for Diablo and try to break it down into into easily digestible bits and throw in my own thoughts about what current changes to the game mean for not only us, but for Diablo and Blizzard as well. Aside from that I do Analytical Playthroughs (okay so it's just a glorified Let's Play) on games and betasUPDATE: I would like to say while I love Diablofans, this new forum editor is really weird and it took me a lot of time to get this to look nice
It's official, I hate the new post editor.. please see the latest reply to the thread for the latest videos for Diablo 3's PTR.
Bashiok - Blizzard Representative - 08/01/2011 -"So how many skill combinations are there now? Well taking into account 6 active skills, all the rune combinations, and 3 passives we currently expect each class to have roughly 2,285,814,795,264 different build combinations."
"Hey, I thought you'd like the witty irony of grub-on-glowie violence!"
Just so you know, it was flagged by our "antispam" measure for some reason, and automatically hidden/deleted. I will bring it back, but you can just keep using this one as well.
Also, great work, man - keep it up (was listening all this while I browsed the forums awesome background commentary). Can't wait to see your content on RoS.
Okay, it's REALLY in HD this time, for reals (tested and verified and if it isn't I give up <_< ). In my effort and haste to save the thread before I had to leave I forgot to update the YouTube URL. Sorry Folks!

Well that's odd, but certainly explains things. The old thread was somewhat cluttered with with beta videos so keeping this one up to date might be better, but I do thank you for bringing back the old thread from the dead.
Glad you liked it, I'm really looking forward into digging into RoS if I can get into any beta they might have for it. I'm not sure how lucky I'll be since everyone around me is getting Hearthstone beta invites and I'm still in the dark. hehe
Blizzcon appraoches and I'm getting excited. Find out what kind of coverage to expect for Diablo 3 during Blizzcon (spoiler: it's not as much as I wanted) as well as an overview of the latest datamined information for anyone that may have missed it on the main page.
This time I talk a little about health in Diablo 3 as related to MMO healing, something that Blizzard has struggled with in the past. Even World of Warcraft delt with the too much damage too quickly issue where health just didn't seem to matter as much, so it's a little funny to think they're having this problem again this time in an ARPG.
Some shout outs to MMO-Champion, Diablofans, and even community member CardinalMDM's own suggestions on what Torment Difficulty could mean.
Diablo Digest - Road to Blizzcon, More Datamined Information
Video Description and Timestamps
Diablo Digest is a video podcast focusing on Diablo 3 news and updates.
Audio recorded Oct 28 2013
For those of you that couldn't attend Blizzcon in person or via Virtual Ticket, this video is a highlight of what was covered in the Reaper of Souls Preview panel. Nothing really new, most of it was found through datamining and Diablofans already has everything covered on the main page. But still, if you have a desire for a quick recap, I also included the slides and some videos from the panel for your viewing enjoyment.
Diablo Digest: Blizzcon Report Day 1 - Reaper of Souls Preview
Diablo Digest is a video podcast focusing on Diablo 3 news and updates.
Recording 11/8/2013
A quick announcement on what information was given out during Blizzcon 2013 and what we can expect from Reaper of Souls. Most of the information released was already detailed in datamining so the bulk of the interesting announcements will most likely come out tomorrow.
And now I'm creeped out. Ladies and gents, I'm sorry for the delay this video went up early today but I forgot to update this post. To my defense I was kind of tired and zonked out, but that is merely an excuse. If you want the quick and dirty update to Blizzcon last night, here it is. All the fine details are of course covered on this wonderful site called diablofans, be it in the datamined thread or on the front news page.
Diablo Digest: Blizzcon Day 2 - Templar, Systems, Q&A Panel recap - Class changes & skills overview
Diablo Digest is a video podcast focusing on Diablo 3 news and updates.
Recording 11/9/2013
An overview of what was covered during Day 2 of Blizzcon for Diablo 3. The Gameplay Systems and Crusader panel and the Open Q&A are both covered. Not as much new information covered as I hoped, but a lot of information available for those who haven't been following the leaked datamined information.
Hearing Kagekaze ramble is always a fun experience.
Mumble mumble.. back in my day.. mumble.. barefoot in the snow.. grumble.. uphill both ways... overworked.. underpaid.. no control over my life... Mumble grumble.
UPDATE: I would like to say while I love Diablofans, this new forum editor is really weird and it took me a lot of time to get this to look nice UPDATE 2: okay I read the formatting thread and I don't see the remove formatting button, guess that was for the old editor. Also, I notice that YouTube tags aren't working so I'm updating to Media tags. Hopefully that fixes it. I'm not sure why my Unordered lists are always losing their formatting when I edit tho.
Okay I couldn't get into the Reaper of Souls Beta but thankfully the 2.0.1 PTR is up and it's got quite a bit of things I can analyze and report on it seem. Some little things that I just see falling through the cracks that are making the experience of 2.01 much better all around compared to Live. Here are 3 videos I managed to get out today from my massive recording binge.
Diablo 3 2.0.1 BETA PTR: What's new and different?
Nephalem Trials were originally going to be in Reaper of Souls as random portals to challenges you needed to complete for loot. These have been replaced by "Cursed Chests" and "Cursed Shrines". Random events that give you chances to spawn more loot chests and get a bunch of random items.
Three new videos out today as well. I went on a massive recording binge the day the PTR came out. I also live streamed a Wizard on Master from level 1 with all self found gear, it was pretty intense since elites took forever to kill, but overall it wasn't super 'hard' and I could usually escape to heal up if I needed to. The steam's on twitch under recent broadcasts. onto the videos (assuming the editor works this time, oh how I hate this thing):
Quests in Diablo 3 seem to be giving more than just Gold and XP. Some quests are now giving out additional items both Blue and Yellow confirmed. Crafting also received some changes, requiring basic salvage from white items, requiring players to pick up EVERYTHING if you want to craft or possibly run out of materials. The good news is that you get a new filter to make finding what you want to craft much easier.
Diablo 3 BETA 2.0.1 PTR: No Death Penalty Rant - Losing a Sense of Accomplishment http://youtu.be/KX6rX8SibXw
UPDATE:Good news, you cannot revive in a Boss fight, this change only effects death in the world. However, I'm leaving this up as I think corpse revival is just a bit silly. Reaper of Souls introduces the ability to spawn where you died effectively removing the sense of accomplishment for overcoming tough fights. This is a decision I certainly don't agree with, please have a listen and leave your own thoughts in the comments below.
A quick fight with Leoric the Skeleton King on Expert Difficulty to see how it compares to a Normal Mode MP10 fight. Unfortunately the fight appears to be exceptionally easy, but it could be due to an overturned follower.
Diablo 3 BETA 2.0.1 PTR: Changes to Followers http://youtu.be/rDGMYEsbUnM
Follower skills got a massive upgrade in the recent PTR/RoS Beta patch. Take a look at the skills for each follower and how they compare the the skills on Live.
Okay it's that time again. New Diablo Digest up this time in LIVE format with plenty of distracted by the shiny moments! I wanted to go over my impressions of the PTR thus far in this one. I've been quite happy with many of the changes but there's still some things I don't care for. I go over my concerns about Loot 2.0 going a bit too far, my dislike for needing an expansion to make the game a worthy challenge, and the changes to vendors and salvage.
Notice: I will post my latest releases as replies into this thread as usual.
