So by telling us this, they want us to take all our gear from our main and start leveling up more of the same class until the expansion hits to maximize account paragon.

Only if your main is p100.
And if you don't like any of the other classes, just create a second char of that same class. Or... deal with it ;-)
Those who are p100 already and are worried about "losing hours" should think about the folks who are not p100 and are just like "man, I'll never catch up". At the start of RoS you'll already have a huge advantage over the majority of players (because the majority doesn't have a p100 char, as our forum survey showed).
I, for example, have ~500 hours (or more, just a guess) combined; but since I don't care about "efficiency" but try out fun stuff most of the time (new builds, theorycrafting, or just random silly things), my highest paragon char is 67 as of now. So just because I never boarded the efficiency train or never did boring Crater 2 scorpion runs I'll never catch up to the p100 guys. But... I don't care, I'm having fun :-)

Yeah i'm pretty much in the same boat as you are. Even though i did enjoy some crater 2 scorpion runs ^^
I might get to like level 80 on my Wiz before Ros is released but i doubt it...

I tried that yesterday. For about 5 minutes. Then logged out and tested some random skills on my dusty barb twink. I'll never be able to turn my brain off and fry mobs for 3 hours straight...

Yes, obviously I was referring to p100 mains. It's not about liking other classes (I had all 5 lvl 60 a year ago and recently started the 10x lvl 60 / 2x each class achieves), for efficiency you want the uber gear from your main not the mediocre gear you have for your alts, and that means leveling paragon multiple times on the same class as your main if you want tons of account paragon when it comes out.
I kind of wish they just hadn't said anything about how the conversion would work until it happened so that people couldn't farm it intentionally in advance. I won't be playing much until the expansion so I will be that much further behind because I don't want to keep grinding while they haven't fixed anything.

You know, that's exactly the problem that I suffered for years and you just need to get over it. In this game, it's all about how YOU make your way through lots of monsters. There will always be people who kill faster, die less, or have a bigger e-peen. But it doesn't matter, they're playing the same game, but somehow they're also playing a different game.
Years ago, I would've taken vacation to be among the first to finish the race to 70. Now I'm thinking I might take vacation to get away from the hype when the game comes out (and maybe escape the crashing servers) and I'll just casually level my chars to 70 a week after, knowing all the sweet spots.
I dont get how you can calculate this when we dont how much exp will be required after paragon 100 yet. Once we know this we can figure out what our account wide paragon level will be given our total exp from all characters.
I interpolated those for 100-130 as follows:
For Levels 61 - 70, experience requirements increase at a rate of 2,880,000/level (=2*1,440,000).
For Levels 71 - 80, experience requirements increase at a rate of 5,020,000/level (=3.5*1,440,000).
For Levels 81 - 90, experience requirements increase at a rate of 6,480,000/level (=4.5*1,440,000).
For Levels 91 - 100, experience requirements increase at a rate of 8,640,000/level (=6*1,440,000).
Interpolation: For Levels 100-110, experience requirements increase at a rate of (7,5*1440000)/level For Levels 111-120, experience requirements increase at a rate of (9*1440000)/level For Levels 121-130, experience requirements increase at a rate of (11*1440000)/level
Still, for people who don't have p100 characters (like me, which is why I started it to begin with ) it can be interesting.
In any case, my initial goal was rather to determine the following:
I have a Wiz that is close to P70 and a WD at P30, what is the fastest way to get more future plvls?
I just shared the table because I thought it looked pretty.

I thought about that as well yesterday, but the point is: it doesn't matter. All we know is that they'll look at the experience and not levels gained, so whatever character nets most XP/hour is best.
Lylirra has a second tweet in which Wyatt confirms for her that it's the exp that accumulates not the levels.
That said it's likely the scaling will be different. As in , exp of paragon 100 now will probably equate to much more in RoS, considering we have a predicted 1000 total points to spend (based on the core stat page and assuming the others also have 5 stats with 50 points each), that means P1000 to max out our customization.
That would literally take decades of 24/7 playing to achieve. I'd say what's paragon 100 now will equate to around paragon 250 or so..
could someone who regularly gets answers from blizz cms on twitter please ask a question about HC, if the new paragon system will count the dead characters in hall of the dead heroes toward the account total of paragon levels?
It's not like Twitter is the magic way to get an answer from them. Lylirra only made a statement long time ago that was not correct, which is why she had to tweet again to correct herself.
Try the official forums or maybe Reddit. However, I think they'll just not be up for any Q&A yet as everything is still "in the making".
My guess is: it will count, because it's XP you earned.

This was my initial assumption as well, but I wanted to compute it to make sure

I do that sometimes as well. The thing is... if your computed answer doesn't confirm your initial assumption, do you just change your mind or question your computation? "Damnit, it's not the answer I wanted, there must be a mistake in my calculation"?
For me this announcement is actually a relief, as I don't need to worry about getting a char to 100 or getting all chars to 30+, but I can just play whatever I like, as long as I keep killing monsters. Many of them. ;-)
The only "math" I could do is to create a spreadsheet and do timed runs to see which class/spec/MP yields most DPS, but the thing is that I'm too easily bored by 1 hour runs and shorter runs are just too small for a comparative sample. I guess I'll just play my main (Archon wiz) and sometimes my close 2nd (cookie cutter monk).
I really enjoyed leveling my DH last night. I did 51-54 in one sitting and I haven't done that much grinding in a LONG time. My usual is to level once and immediately log out.
I am also saving all my demonic essences since the new item level will be 70, no point crafting now so I'm hoarding them up!

I don't think we know if Demonic Essences and the current crafting system will still be used once the changes are implemented. Maybe they will. I do hope the Blacksmith gets some love too, though.

I can't see Blizzard allowing mass Demonic Essence hoarding like that. But then again, they really don't take up that much room so why not? If they do allow it you're way ahead, if they don't you lose out on what? Five bank spaces?
My guess would be that demonic essences will be replaced by a higher tier of essences, like ninja essences. I assume gold will be next to worthless as well, because rerolling stats etc. will most likely involve some form of binding to account. The only thing that makes sense to hoard right now is paragon.
Adding to that, hardcore seems the best place to do it. Even if you find hardcore a bit too hardcore at the moment ,like I do, having died a few times to lag, imagine how it will be when the patch hits and you don't loose paragon points. It will be a proper diablo experience, where you can constantly get new upgrades and don't have to rely on an inflated economy. Plus, you can reinvest your points in defense.
Edit: I agree with the above poster that whatever experience you get now will have little effect once the patch hits, due to higher xp ranges at level 70.

That could be true. But there's no sense in using them now when any item I can make now is going to trumped by level 70 items anyways. It's a safe bet at least.
But there's always the chance they just change the formula for level 70 crafts to demonic essences (maybe more required perhaps). I can't imagine they'll make elites drop demonic essences for crafting 60 items, and then have them drop some other separate essence for 70 crafts. That's just too cumbersome. Elites should only drop items for the end game crafts, that was the point of the demonic essence anyways.
One thing I've been thinking about is how the Paragon system will be differently balanced at 70. For example, maybe one 100 PL character is equal to PL 30, and 10 PL 100 characters may be equal to PL 45 in the new system. Then getting from 30 -> 45 in the new system, based around level 70 mobs and their experience may only take 5 days worth of farming ... who knows?

Pretty much this. We may be wasting a lot of time farming now when level 70 monsters might give experience at a much faster rate. Yeah, you'll be ahead of other people at launch, but ten hours of leveling now could just be an hour post-expansion.
I'm still going to keep going though, it's still fun to play!

Who cares if what you do now can be done more efficiently in the future, if you really want to get into the semantics your just wasting your time playing video games in the first place.
