From what I recall, in online Ladder you couldn't "convert" you characters. Maybe in single-player mode (or non-ladder). And even then, iirc heading into Act 5 with the weaker vanilla gear and no charms was suboptimal. So what I remember doing is starting it all over again to experience Act 5 in Normal (instead of doing it in Hell difficulty, where I was) and slowly progress up to Hell again.
I really can't remember properly now. But Sabvre is correct, you either chose to create an xpac or vanilla character.
You guys got the point of my question, com'on!
you possibly couldn't convert ladder chars, but you could always go back and do act 5 normal at level 80 to get the resistance potion
I'm more interested in those numbers(?) on the base of the gate pillars.
Ok i can't believe no one is commenting on this... I tried to clear up the image on PS as well, to the best of my abilities i think the dates are 1985 and 1989. A simple google search showed that The Twilight Zone aired from 1985 to 1989 so my guess is Blizzard knew someone was gonna mess with the image looking for hidden stuff so they decided to mess with us?
And with one simple image scorned hearts once again fill with hope.
The passion people have for this series is simply undeniable. Everyone wants to see D3 redeemed, and perhaps this will indeed be the expansion we've all been waiting for. Can't wait for some big news and juicy details!
Lots of potential here, we all know it. Hopefully, those of us whom stuck with it will get the D3 we all wanted. D3: RoS.....gonna take time to get used to that.
Yeah, could be a corrupted Imperius or Trag'Oul, but I'm definitely more inclined to believe Malthael lost faith in all good things and became a very very bad tempered Nihilist...
And poor Itherael going to bite the dust... damn, I liked him.
And dude, you guys totally need to go back to the OP and give that guy them +1 cookies /thumbs-up-whore-from-youtube-mode-off
I was actually hoping that they implemented a big reset option with Loot 2.0 as in if you wanna move on to the new patch/expansion, you have to archive everything you previously had.
Actually they hinted on this in the Item Q&A, if I remember well. There won't be resets (except in ladders, ladders always have to start from zero), and there won't be separate games. They'll keep the old items and the old (bugged) weapon damage mechanics for old items, and simply make all new drops will work with new mechanics.
So we'll just continue with our characters, our skills will be updated and balanced, but our gear won't be touched. That's only natural I might add.

The 'original right' looks like 295? and the 'original left' looks like ?295 to me. May 29th release date maybe?
I'd much rather Malthael turned out to be alive and well and still being wise somewhere off the radar... Blizzard tends to use the 'good guy gone bad' thing a little much, although I can't blame them... they need fresh Big Bads for players to knock over.
It's the announcements after The Announcement I'm interested in. Items2.0, the AH, endgame, skills... D3 is a game in need of a massive overhaul. They really can't get to work on the xpack's mechanics until they've nailed down the prequel's, unless the expansion is a lot closer than anyone expects, but they've given no indication that's the case. Why is Blizzcon still so far off?
Your brain sure is squeaky-clean. "MP is not the focus of D3". Do you know that 80's song that goes "tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies" ? I think it's by Fleetwood Mac.
Jay Wilson (and others, just Google it, you can easily find lots of blue posts) said that everything will be able to solo-able. There are some nice things when it comes to group play, but every single aspect about the game is designed such that it is possible to complete it in SP mode (even uber events). Therefore I don't see how I would be "lying" if I say that "MP is not the focus of D3". Read: focus. Just because a game supports co-op, doesn't mean it's the focus (i.e., main aspect) of the game. There are several classes/builds that work even better in SP than MP.

Actually the game's focus is MP, I don't see how bonus EXP, MF, and GF for playing with friends isn't a reason to play MP or be MP-centric. The only reason the game is beatable on Solo is because then it wouldn't be fair if you couldn't find people to play with. You'd be shit out of luck if you couldn't beat the game solo. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/9382478/#best This dev journal is all about how they can increase the MP experience, and yeah although it talks about how solo has its advantages and what not it is explicitly stating they want to improve the MP experience because that's what Diablo is about kicking the shit out of enemies with your friends. It's always been like that.

Okay, I'm done. Let's stop this MP vs SP discussion, I'm backing out since I don't want to derail this thread. It would make for an interesting discussion so if you want to talk about this any further just create a new thread.
@Laevus: absolutely. In fact, I'm visiting the website several times a day in hope for updates, like the evil penguin/lost numbers thing they did years ago.
Wtf blizzard. They are really going to release an expansion to this unfinished disappointing game before fixing it in the first place? Not with me buddy. Everything's gonna be awesome and amazing again like blizzcon prior to release and we gonna get a soup of yesteryears pork knuckle because it tastes so good. Diablo is dead, bitches! Roll me further.

Actually mp is a bandaid and nothing more.
So from what you've said, I've ascertained that you're a either a troll or a hater (And not one of those who have something constructive to say but one of those who just hate on the game because they can and they enjoy being douchebags) and you've no sense of anything about Diablo 3. Congratulations.
On topic though, I feel like The Reaper of souls could be many things. It can Allude to Adria "reaping" the souls of the evils for Tathamet, or it could be a reference to Mathael's Scythe like weapon, or they could be talking about Necromancer things, a return of Mendeln or Rathma and Trag'oul perhaps? There's a lot of ways this can be taken and I can not wait to hear what they have in store for the first Xpac.

Matheal turns evil -> we have to kill him in ACT 5 -> When we do Deckard Cain appears out of the Crystal Arch as the new Angel of Wisdom

Reaper of souls = Necromancers/ Rathma
mmmm I don't think they'd name the expansion after 1 of the new classes. I think the Angel of Death = Reaper of souls makes sense.
