A lot of my friends and myself included keep getting weird rubber banding this patch. For a barb it seems the higher your attack speed and WWing together are a potent mix and make you more susceptible to the rubber banding. In any case if you stop your current attack or trying to move, your rubber band ends. If you hold down the skill or move, your rubber band will last you indefinitely.

This is a known bug since the game was released. It is especially bad when using WoTB ... at least in my experience. Anyway, expect to die. I should add that I use Sprint so when WWing I also spam that to speed things up. Might have something to do with it but haven't checked it out in detail yet.
Yea I know in 1.0.3 it became very apparent and was a pretty bad issue, but they did at least a partial fix. Even though I still experienced some rubber banding from time to time, it seems to have significantly become worse this patch by both frequency and the distance
I have to agree, this patch it got worse again.
Edit: to the above poster, Rubber banding is when your char is moving but does not get out of the same place, but it's not lag since u are taking dmg etc...

Ahhh ... my bad then I haven't had a chance to play more than a few hours with the new patch & switched from WoTB to Ground Stomp (to help my party members) so didn't notice if it had gotten worse or not. Thank you for the heads up. I'll switch back tonight & check.
Oddly enough, I'm not getting any rubberbanding now. One of the reasons I quit last July (1.0.3 I believe), was because the rubberbanding got to a point where the game was unplayable. I just came back to the game today and was relieved that the game is perfect now.
I did get a new computer since last July, and my internet is a little better.
The issue, however, seems related to latency rather than the game itself, no? I mean, i have experienced similar phenomenon in other games and it was, i supose, related to latency.
No, not really. Rubberbanding can be caused by latency but it is rare because the server gives quite a bit of leeway. It's mostly FPS games that require frequent position updates where you will see lag cause rubberbanding. In D3 it's mostly caused by pathing problems (either the client or server think you're not supposed to be able to move where you did). It happens often if you run fast on the edge of something that you can't pass through and in some cases you can even get stuck in the middle of an open area (probably invisible borders between map tiles). When it's semi-permanent you are unable to move normally with being snapped back into place but you can usually get out of it if you use an ability that allows you to "jump" some distance or otherwise avoid collision detection.
Ah so this is the term for it. I've experienced this many times but most notably when you have fast movement speed (tempest rush for monks, sprint w/wrath for Barbs). I did a lot of scorpion runs in the last patch with both characters and experienced this all the time.
To Kryses' and Ablib's points.. I noticed improvement between 1.03 and 1.07. I noticed rubberbanding again on the 1.08 PTR, but
thought it would be limited to PTR. I'm surprised to see it in Production now.
Yeah I didn't have many issues with rubber banding anymore until this patch hit, its happens much more frequently now. My attack speed is +49% from items, and move speed is capped. It does seem to happen a lot more of WoTB is up.
I experienced a bit more of rubber band while using Vault on my DH to get out of multiple arcane beams and other bad things when i tank elites. Like everyone else, it didn't happen that much before 1.0.8.
I think the way I fixed it or at least limited it happening was changing the vertical sync /anti aliasing settings in the graphics options, by unchecking them.
Results may vary I imagine.

Should have clarified earlier, one of my friends is a monk who was experiencing it as well. Damn you rubber band!
