Was banned on the official forums for advertising. Isn't that a pleasure?
I can imagine they've had about enough of all the petitions, links to polls and the 567 "OMG ROLLBACK" threads.
If you give a link, it has to be to an allowed site. Diablofans is one of those sites. Whatever yours is....well it's not one of those sites. Add to that, you're kinda insulting them with your crusade to force them to do something stupid like rollback hundreds of thousands of accounts because a fraction of them cheated.
Yeah, because this poll isn't helping the situation at all.
What Blizzard doesn't need is people stirring up more trouble. Let them do their work. The freeze on gold trades indicates that they very well may be making targetted transaction rollbacks so as to un-do the gold injection but so as to also not punish people who have been playing the game for the last 24+ hours. You know, a win-win solution.
Telling me that I have to forefit close to 200 million XP as a result of an exploit that I never had any interactions with is EQUALLY as unacceptable to me as not rolling back the transactions is to you. If they contain it sufficiently they can manage to please us both - for that we should be happy.
But, for the love of God, don't make their jobs harder by acting like one of the Blizztrolls on the official forums.

Yeppers....
I'll state 3 truths, and anyone here is welcome to hold me to it.
1: Blizzard is addressing the violators directly today. There will be punitive action taken, along with the loss of whatever profit they made.
2: All gems sold will be given back to the selling parties and their profit from said transactions removed.
3: The economy will quickly re-stabilize and all will be back to normal very expeditiously. As a matter of fact, the suspension of so many of the games worst exploiters will provide an easement for the economy to stabilize even faster. By the time the guilty return, Radiants will be approx 20m a pop and gold will settle into it's proper cost per the RMAH.
No, we don't need a rollback. Not when it's evident that Blizzard is single-targeting the offenders and initiating returns. Stop trying to force Blizzard to do something that you don't even fully understand the ramifications of.

Whatever profit they made on the RMAH. That says nothing of profits they made on sites like d3jsp, which they certainly would have used instead of the RMAH if they have half a brain.
Now, I know that it is an unsanctioned method of procuring gold/items and you have to accept the risk when you buy stuff that way, but the dupers will still profit and a bunch of kids will be screwed out of their allowance. Again, I know they took the risk using those sites, but it's not like they were morally wrong for doing so.

I didn't see any literature regarding that, maybe I misunderstood what they're doing exactly, or perhaps, they have not said themselves exactly what they're doing.

I'm just speculating. Since undoubtedly many people were selling gems when the price went up, and they had no idea an exploit was behind the sudden jump in cost, some people mad a billion or more and didn't mean to exploit.
I'm sure Blizz understands this. Taking their profit away is necessary to stabilize the economy. But doing that and not giving their gems back would just be unfair.
Blizzard has been allowing exploiting bugs through black weapons for months I can't see why it would change now...
This is different.
People were literally printing money yesterday.
I've read many comments today from certain misguided individuals whom defend the exploiters, saying that people were just taking advantage of a situation and they shouldn't be banned. One of the members of this forum even tried to say that what they did was good, because it helps Blizzard learn from their mistake.
Watch this fucking prick and tell me you'd feel sorry for him if he got perma-banned.
Greed I tells ya...greed. Listen to the little prick say "Will I get banned for this".....and by the end "I don't even care if I get banned".

He should get banned just for saying yolo.
Also, wtf was with the "i'm not going to get banned! I didn't even know!" He fucking did it TWICE, the second time after yelling ITS A GOLD DUPE about 43 times.
I am NOT in favor of a rollback. I am in favor of permabans for those who abused the dupe, or last step before permaban and gold removed from account. Anyone who used it KNOWS it was not intended, and should be banned. Don't give me that "It's Blizz's fault!" bullshit. If you abused it, you knew it was cheating. Period.
Their strategy is to let the AH run a full 36 hours down, causing it to empty and the economy will essentially reset itself. The gold has likely been tracked down and offenders stripped of their absconded coins.
It will likely take a few days for the market to find it's legs and stabilize, due to what is in effect a reset of the AH's, but my guess is we're gonna see some idiots trying to sell for ridiculously inflated prices at first. Once they realize that the hype isn't real, and hundreds of thousands of player actually AREN'T sitting on 989,000,000,000,000,000 gold, prices will plateau accordingly.
However if Blizz fails to become satisfied that things are safe, they've left open the possibility to rollback. After hearing that, I'm done playing until this thing gets settled. Not getting screwed out of anything over this.
Hey everyone,
As you may have already seen in the Breaking News window (or discovered while trying to load up the Auction House once logged in), we've brought both the gold and real-money Auction Houses offline for maintenance. After the release of Patch 1.0.8 this morning, we found that some players were exploiting a bug that enabled them to duplicate gold through the Auction House. We're working on fixing the bug right now, and bringing the Auction Houses offline helps us troubleshoot in a more stable environment while preventing further exploiting.
Q. When will the Auction House be available? We don’t have an ETA just yet. Our priority at the moment is (of course) to fix the bug and make sure it can’t happen again. We know this is an inconvenience for some of our players, so we’ll be providing updates in this thread as soon as we have any details to share.
Q. Will there be a rollback? Our priority is to fix any issues with the game client first—that's what we're working on right now. After we've addressed the situation, we'll need to determine whether or not a rollback is appropriate. We know this is an important issue for all of our players, so we’ll be sure keep you informed of what's happening and will provide any updates in this thread, as well.
Q. Will players be banned for using this dupe? We're currently in the process of reviewing the accounts involved and taking appropriate actions, including temporary locks, suspensions, and/or bans. Our exploitation policy for Diablo III can be found here, which should give you an overview of the kinds of activities that are and aren’t cool within the game.
Q. How will this affect other regions and patching up to 1.0.8? This will not affect the patch maintenance schedules for Europe or Asia. As we believe we've been able to fix the dupe, patch 1.0.8 will still be released in both of these regions as normal. However, please note that we have temporarily reverted the stack size for gold on the real-money Auction House from 10,000,000 to 1,000,000. There's an active bug that's preventing gold stack sizes from displaying correctly, so we've reversed that one change until we can fix it. (This will also be the case for the Americas once the Auction House is marked live.)
Thank you for all of your reports, and for your patience. In the meantime, to help streamline communication, we're going to be locking and redirecting posts to this location.
Wrong. Answer; To pee with.
