Just looking at the AH listings for my region, I can see that plenty of people are still playing.
If I sold ten million copies of ANYTHING .....I would expect at least 2 million of those people to bitch and moan and demand their money back. Anytime you have that large of a customer base, the amount of dissatisfied customers will be that much larger.
It really really really really is a false sentiment that most people whom bought this game, hate it.
I would bet my right arm that those numbers are reversed. 1-3 mil that weren't happy. You get that many faggy teenage gamers pissed off and they can make a lot of noise. Which is all this sentiment is....noise.

I'd like a piece of that arm as well
I think 2-3 million might actually be accurate.
Now honestly, it's not just people who aren't happy or have issues against the game. Your average gamer nowadays plays a game as if his life depended on it, stops after a couple weeks or maybe 1-2 months. Check GW2 videos now, sooooo many people whining. It will happen to RE6, Borderlands 2, CoD BO2; it's just the way some gamers are nowadays, and we have to deal with it.
Most of my friends went craaaazyyyy when the game's release date was announced, they watched videos, they said how much Diablo 2 was the most awesome game of all time. And then most of them played for a month, finished Normal and now they moved into the next PS3/XBOX360 title that was released a couple weeks later (one of them is even playing that piece of crap that Way of the Samurai 4 is :o)

There is absolutely NO WAY that 80% of the players at launch have quit entirely. Now as to how many 4hour a day+ players there are, I have no idea. It would be interesting to see the actual numbers, but I cannot digest that only 20% of the players are left. Hell they're still selling copies of the game right now as I type.

Yeah, only Blizzard knows that... even our best estimates could be waaaay off
It's very possible though that there's a lot of people still playing.
When the patch launched, I was making some money getting legendaries for lower bids than the lowest buyouts. Thought that would become easier, but it has become harder. Always feels like there's 4-5 guys watching all legendaries all the time com'on guys, let me buy that awesome strenght Skorn for 6 mil
I have no idea how many are still playing, but it's worth nothing that I spend quite a bit of time leveling alts (3 level 60's with a 4th getting close), and I am still frequently running into people in public games at low levels that obviously have no clue what they are doing. Many times when I check their profiles they are on their first character. A lot of the gamers that didn't give a shit about Diablo and just played because it was the hot new game have moved on, but there seems to be a fairly steady influx of new players.
Eventually the game will settle down into a much smaller community. Then the expansion will come out, fresh waves of emo whiners will come back, rage that they don't find 1 legendary for every 30 minutes of playtime, and quickly move on to the next hot new thing.
you guys want to see something amusing.. take your best toon.. open up a Normal Act 1 game then open it to public... it will filling very quickly and as you blaze thru guiding the lowbies watch as their achievements fly up like it was release week.
Happens to me anytime i do lowbie escorts with my DH, be it normal-hell there is almost always 1-2 in group getting fresh achieves, heck about half my Inferno groups do it as well

inferno pubs...reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly pisses me off. Havent bothered with them since 2 weeks after launch. people walking random directions pulling as much mobs as possible linking every crappy drop they get and telling what the item would need in order to be 100million, no ty, ill pass
There's a lot more than 1 million. It would be too much of a catastrophic drop in players, seeing that Diablo is just too legendary of a series to lose most of it's playerbase in just a few months, and the game itself is nowhere near being bad or unplayable.

I had no luck finding it on web, somebody has some more info maybe? Thx :Thumbs Up:
Companies sometimes issue press releases about numbers of subscriptions, number of concurrent players, etc. But it's really not that common.

Based on the lunar orientation relative to my right ass cheek (which is in retrograde when viewed from Neptune) I'd say that Ruksak has zero friends!
