even horrible rolls. a deadman's legacy with just max disc roll (regardless what skill and attack speed) easily 80m+. Lacuni prowlers, resist all or crit make you 20m. having both 100m. both with a stat or two, umm, 500m? WTF
normally people tell u there are supply and demand pulls... Does everybody have 100s of mil to blow?
I don't understand how is there so much demand pulling...
The rarity, umm, let me make an example.
Old nat boots, 1 random mod, best pair cost upward of 20m, worst pair mil or 2.
New inna pants and belt, samething, 1 random mod, probably equal rarity, 100m for a good roll?
So I'm wondering if those gotten well rolled lvl63 set or uniques and priced them according to the AH actually made sales.
Also, out of curiosity, what are you guys doing with your hundreds of mil jackpot gold? Buying other new items or banking it?
Just because people list them for those prices does not mean they are really selling for that...
This this this. Hell, I've seen level 3 white items on the AH for 100 million gold. Not sure what sort of mis-click they were fishing for there.
But, balanced against that - you ask "Does everybody have 100s of mil to blow?" - No, they don't. But they don't need to - if you find a rare and powerful legendary in the early days of 1.0.4, you only need one fantastically rich buyer to make you fantastically rich yourself. That why they always called Diablo-style games "loot lotteries".
I found a decently rolled WD set chest shortly after 1.0.4 hit. Sold for 200m. Bought Inna's pants for 30 and an amulet for 20m, the rest is banked for the remaining Inna's parts.
One way of checking whether stuff actually sells for the listed prices is to look at the bids. I've been shopping for Inna's chest and head and most decently rolled stuff with prices between 20m and 80m gets bids, so yes, it sells for that price, even a week after 1.0.4.
I bought my WD chest piece for 40M (I think I got a bit of a deal, it's decently rolled). But yeah... people really are spending that much. If they have the gold, they don't care if the items is really great.

I've read that botters sometimes do this to "launder" gold to their main non-botting accounts.
Are they being listed at those prices or actually selling for those prices? I don't think there's enough gold in the game for everyone to get what they're asking for their gear.
