I was banned a while back for participating just once in those "add 3 more words to the end of this story" threads. The content I posted was harmless, so the only reasoning I could gather as to why I was banned for it was that it was an inappropriate topic and the mods couldn't be bothered to sift through the thread to find the bad seeds, so they just banned everyone.
Cats, dogs, how can you argue with the cuteness of that picture? URL because I didn't want to post a big image that broke peoples horizontal scroll or w/e.

While op made a spam thead, and may or may not have deserved to get temp banned, the CMs over there are still ridiculous nazis.
I had gotten a temp ban for a over heated post, and I deserve it. But then a while later, I had walked into a thread that was comparing aspects of Rift to WoW. There was nothing negative being said about anything. And just for posting in the thread, I got slapped with a permanentban. I had said something along the lines of, "The leveling for Rift was pretty cool, but WoWs end game was better." BAM, perma banned.
And if anyone replies to my post here, I'm sure it will be a self righteous fanboy claiming there's more to the story. But maybe you too will unwittingly break one of their unwritten rules, and then be in the same boat as me.
What's really fucked up is that you're banned from the DIII forums right from the go. Not that I care much anymore, it is a worthless community now. But its annoying not being able to post in tech support when their patches don't work with all systems.
Regardless of whether the suspension was warranted or not (don't really care), I only wish they'd put that much effort into actioning people that clog the class forums with trading posts.
The best way to avoid getting your account banned for talking on forums, especially if you have multiple games attached to it, is to avoid their forums like it's a jailer, desecrater, molten, waller, freezer, arcane enchanted, morter, phase beast.
Nothing truly useful has ever come out of the official forums. People posted bug reports about the invulnerable wizard bug and the and the barb perma charge LS/stun/(the other crappy ruins) bug a month before everyone started exploiting them and then once word was out they hotfixed them overnight.
If you stick to a 3rd party site like this then anything truly important you have to say will still be heard by blizzard, will likely be heard sooner because topics don't get lost in the sea of spam that is the blizz forums, and you won't have to ever worry about blizz punishing you for accidentally or purposefully crossing their line of acceptable behavior.
... does the cat need to have been hit in the face with a shovel, too?
But who cares really? Life goes on.
Well played sir, well played.

Really?
REALLY?
lol, this is just sad.

Good point.
