We have the ilvl63 WoS, and the Buff Blue WoPride, its time peoiple shared those fantastically rare legendaries for the lolz.
I wish i'd thought of this before salvaging.
I still have this tho:
I find it curious........did not one developer....not one intern, asistant etc speak up when this shit was presented? Nobody? Nobody said ..........
"Why is this item legendary?"
Who wears that shit?
I wouldn't put that on my lvl 50....even though he's not even capable of wearing it.
How about......70% mf and 50% GF....maybe throw in 50-80 AR just so that it could actually be used?
I'm sayin it........if Blizzard doesn't take this 1.04 item buff VERY seriously, people are going to be jumping ship like an Italian boat captain. And it won't be the "vocal minority". It will be most of their player-base streaming out by the thousands.
I've found several items that's sold for a couple mil, but most of my money I've made has been from buying low and selling high on the AH. IMO, it's still by far the most effective way to make quick easy money, you just have to know how to play the AH.

Oh pitiful shadow lost in the darkness,
Bringing torment and pain to others.
Your damned soul wallowing in your sin.
Perhaps... it is time to die.
1. I find it curious........did not one developer....not one intern, asistant etc speak up when this shit was presented? Nobody? Nobody said ..........
2. "Why is this item legendary?"
3. Who wears that shit?
1. Legendaries are generated just like regular blue/yellow crap is. For the sake of legendarity, some stats are "locked" to predefined sets (for example guaranteed str or dex or int), but this still is random and there is chance to produce crap.
2. Its got chance to become a good item, with a good roll of random stats, it lost the chance, it happens.
3. Noone does. Its good for salvaging.
ive yet to see a decent cindercoat or goldskin. Just sayin.

There is no potential for a goldskin.....Grandfather.....etc. Most Legendary weapons and armor have NO CHANCE whatsoever to roll "legendary" stats.
The inherent variable stats on most legendaries CANNOT roll high enough to compare with an average ilvl61-63 rare. They simply have too low of a range.
How did this happen? Did they not realize that everybody would be farming rares.....finding items with higher values than legendaries all day long? The Grandfather I found the other day......under 700 DPS on a 2-hander.....pathetic, and even a perfect Grandfather is unusable......a perfect legendary with ideal RMP ....still utterly fucking useless.
First legendary I found. Was worth only about 75k-100k at the time.
I don't think that is overly worthless, especially at 59, assuming one does not have a lvl 60 char that is farming Inferno to feed gear to alts. Put in a good crit gem and that thing will make Acts 3 and 4 of Hell a faceroll. I'll post a legendary belt I got from ZK that is beyond worthless.
Well, if it was lvl 51, or at least 54, then it would be nice for hell. But if it only works from 59-60, it has value for about 1 hour of game time. I used a Logan's Claw from lvl 54 on.
I don't think legendaries must have uber-stats. But there should be something that makes them worth wearing. E.g. if Goldskin had 30-40 MF, then some people would use it, even with the other stats being crap. However even most ilvl 61+ legendaries have very low stats, or at least not really favorable stat combinations.
Yeah that's a good point. I was buying high dps xbows for my alt that had like -10 level reduction that absolutely trivialized Hell. On the flip side, if that legendary was lvl 60, it would be absolutely worthless.
How about......70% mf and 50% GF....maybe throw in 50-80 AR just so that it could actually be used?

And now i'm guarenteed people are going to bitch at 1.04 because They want to buff Legendaries to have a unique flair, but it seems people like you are looking for extremes where Legendaries means instant BiS.
The max MF that can be on an item is 20% and you want a 70% chest? I would only be okay with a 70-100% MF item if it had no chance to roll Str/Dex/Int/Vit and you couldnt swap it at the last minute. Like a "Here's ashitload of MF, but the rest of your gear is going to have to carry this dead weight for the sake of MF" kinda thing.
I wouldnt mind a Legendary rolling 20-25% though, still higher than anything else, but not overpowered for the sake of big numbers.

Of course, farming in AH is one of Jay Wilson's plan for Diablo fun. Matter of fact is you spend as much time "farming" in AH as it is in the game for good item.
This thread is basically why I quit playing until 1.0.4 comes out. I only ever found one legendary (it was alright, but not great), and it was at level 45 or so. I didn't want to get 5 level 60s, just so I could go on a legendary search and find nothing but crap.

Which is exactly what I was getting at. The Goldskin (as an example) has nothing to offer in the way of stats in any regard over a very average rare.
Pack it with MF and resist potential and people will seek them out for farming.
MF switch needs to be killed. Items need to be severely buffed to offer the TRUE diablo fans what they demand. Core-fans are, for the most part, furious at the way Diablo itemization has been hacked into a pure vanilla flavor. I'm getting the feeling that many folks whom never played, or "sorta" played D2 are keenly out of touch with what was expected.
This is the same crowd that Blizz apparently was targeting when they decided to offer forth such lousy items. Where Blizz will get fucked if they don't seriously change things is that core-fans will extend a middle finger and walk away, while the "new fags" will move on to something else despite being catered to.
Yes, I'm looking for extremes in terms of Legendary potential. Should this be to an extent to which the only option for BiS is a Legendary? NO. Absolutely not.
However, Legendaries (ilvl60+) should most definitely have the potential to roll in lock-step with the highest of high-end rares.
I'm saying it straight up.........and I will not validate any retort;
If D3 doesn't achieve the same OP item table that D2 had.....it will fail and never even come close to the same following that d2 had. They killed RW's.......they had better replace that niche or this game is done.
Yeah that's a good point. I was buying high dps xbows for my alt that had like -10 level reduction that absolutely trivialized Hell. On the flip side, if that legendary was lvl 60, it would be absolutely worthless.
Well, it would increase the gold value a bit, since you can always salvage it
Apparently you do get a Fiery Brimstone for salvaging it (see here). Wish I'd know that at the time... The worst Pus Spitters are worth about the same as a fiery brimstone for exactly that reason, and that reason alone, I'd say. It's by no means completely useless or worthless (130k is better than nothing) but it's pretty close to it.
Yeah, I have to agree with ruksak. The only reason I'm still hanging on is for a huge legendary buff, improved drop rates, and if that happens, I might stick around for PvP and give it a chance even though I don't really care for it much.
If some major changes dont happen soon, I'll be heading for GW2, and IF i continue to play from time to time, I sure as hell wont be using their money maker (rmah)

When I see these "Legendary" items, I more and more start to believe that Blizzard made this game less addicting as D2 on purpose.
Blizzard wanted to make a fun game for all the D3 fans, but don't want their World of Warcraft playerbase to quit playing WoW and start playing D3 which doesnt have monthly fees. If D3 would be as addicting ad D2 and people (Read Wow Players) keep playing D3 for more then 12 years, they wuld lose sooo much money they would kill their own profits.
So yes, for the new people who don't know D2 its a great game.
For all the D2 players who played for years, D3 is a big dissappointment as it is less addicting and fun as D2 was. If they made it as addicting or even more as D2 I would even pay money to never lose my chars as I would also pay for not losing my D2 chars after 3 months of inactivity.
Yes I would pay money to keep my D2 chars! But D3? No thanks. Blizzard makes more then 100 million dollar a month (about 10 million players paying the monthly fee of 10 dollar).
So Wow brings money, and D2 and D3 cost money. I wonder what I would do if I could choose between this amounts of money. Make the best diablo 3, or make it less good, so people will not keep playing D3, but hopefully keep playing wow, and keep getting that 10$ per player per month...
Seems like the best way they could deter WoW players from leaving WoW to play D3 would be to make D3 like........Diablo. MMO players always seemed to diss on Diablo 2. It seems they tried to find some smart middle ground demographic. They attempted to appeal to that huge WoW fanbase while also keeping in touch with D2's core fans.
The unexpected result is that core-fans are pissed and WoW players don't really care for a pure ARPG, they want their MMO. So in an attempt to appeal to both groups, it appears that hey disappointed them both.
Blizzards best bet would be to craft D3's awesome fucking playability into a similar itemization template as we had in D2, over the next several months, and stop tryin to appeal to both groups. This is what happens when fat-cat corporate types get involved in game development.
Appeal to us, the ones that have been waiting with baited breath for years and years. The ones whom sunk 2,000+ hours into D2.
