Could be worse. Could have been Opera! At least Netscrape is still around in some capacity something called FireFox :). I will say this though while all games have *SOME* bugs they do stay true to their word and don't rush anything out the door. Hey billions of dollars says they can't have gone wrong
The whole thing to me is when people say "Diablo 3 is still a beta" ; "The game isn't ready".
What people don't understand is that it's a finished product and people just find it lackluster. You would have been more pissed off if you waited another 6 months for a release of the same exact quality. Pretty much what delayed the game from late 2011 to the May 15 release was the change of skill rune system.
They thought it was a quality product and Bioware thought SWTOR was a quality product. They weren't released early, it was the game design philosophy.
Back in the 90's companies had to attempt to make games as bug free as possible, this tho is something which has fallen by the wayside over the last decade since the use of the internet has increased and internet speeds have increased.
LOL. Hardly. Stability was a huge problem in most games. Man, I still remember trying to configure IRQs and what not to make sound effects work for various games. Or having them crash at bad times. To this day, I remember Tie Fighter not working on my sound card not working for this game, cuz I used IRQ 10 instead of 5.
People are so spoiled, I guess. Games are a million times more stable now than they ever were. And they are compatible with most hardware out there. I remember like, Wing Commander coming out and you had to have a certain sound card to hear the music. Anything else, sorry bud.

Perhaps Diablo 3 is just a good product and many people decided to ignore it's genre?
The Blizzard customer base was by-in-large MMO-oriented and they released a far less open-ended style of game. I expected as much attrition when the "endgame," questions began. At present I think D3 is shaping up about as well or better than D2 did at a similar point after release.
Obviously they gave up on the idea of having a "bug free release" prior to Diablo 3. Cause Diablo 3 is full of them.
I've played every blizzard game since warcraft, orcs and humans and I don't recall a single online game that didn't have some form of bugs, serious balance issues, or flat our hardware failure at release. Perhaps you could remind us which titles you're talking about?

Back in 1996 most people were either on dial up internet, very early cable/adsl or didn't have the internet at all. Those that did have the internet didn't have super fast speeds that we have today, 28.8k and 56k modems, does anyone remember these speeds? Loading a web page taking several seconds even sometimes a minute if it was coded badly and had large images on it.
So with this in mind companies could not be releasing a patch every few weeks to "fix" there game for the masses. When you can fix stuff on the fly the standards can drop, Blizzard are not the only company to release games that are full of bugs and issues for weeks and months you only need to read some reviews to see what i'm saying, also does anyone remember Dead Island on day 1 on all formats, that game was and still is a lot worse than D3 or any game that Blizzard have released.
lol, what are you talking about?!?
Software in the 90's had LEGENDARY bugs and glitches, some of the buggiest software/games ever made were from the 90's.
This is Diablo One, right? The one that had the quick-click duping exploit? The one where you could beat the entire game in 6 minutes thanks to mana shield and potion-spam?

OP is trolling. Might not know it.
The thing about comments like this is that the OP posted a picture, nothing more. It was posted completely without comment other than "enjoy". Considering it has no other context; any argument that this post is for or against the current blizzard games and design philosophy is just speculation.
It's an interesting reminder of the past, that much is certain.
EU Season Achievement Ladder: Season 1 : #773, 7150/7880 | S2 : #742, 5970/8280 | S3 : #1000+, 810/980 | S4 #? 0/? |
So to answer your question "When is patch 1.0.4 coming out?" all we can say is we are very close.
D2 STILL HAS MAJOR GLITCHES/EXPLOITS to this very day.
D2 was a mess at launch.
Not once, nope, not one single time in D2's entire history was an exploit found and fixed within 30 days.
Several of D2's more infamous glitches still exist, and have NEVER been fixed. (And bots, roflol, oh the bots)
SC1 took MONTHS to fix straight up gamebreaking multiplayer issues.
Ditto for WC2 and 3.
Ditto for WoW.
Ditto for SC2.
Its like you guys have never actually played a Blizzard game at launch.

Rose colored glasses and all that.
Edit: The irony of the entire thing...so good. Thanks for posting.

What universe were you living in?!?
If I had to guess I'd say his father's testicle or mother's womb.
