His twitter hasn't been active for a while and I haven't seen his presence to any strong degree post release. Seems like a lot of the dev blogs are with Wyatt Cheng now. I guess it makes sense but it just feels weird to see him go from a front presence for the games development to now seemingly background. I'm sure they are busy with patches and 1.1, but I was curious if he has said much recently that maybe I had missed.
Didn't you hear? He got killed in Development Hell.

I imagine he took a vacation. I'm sure the weeks leading up to launch subtracted a few years from his life. The dude knows that to whatever end, Diablo 3 will be his legacy. I'm sure he's quite interested in turning the naysayers around and doing what's right by the fans.
I hope. I love the game but it needs more "diablo" and less "3".
With the current bandwagon hate against Diablo 3, he can't win any debate or say anything right. Even if he were to post the most logical, well-thought-of statement with great visions for the game, people would assault it and bash it, just because he posted it.
And insult him, and make death threats against him and his family, and call for him to be fired, and any of a number of intolerable actions from the community.
most customers don't use the forums or even look at them. my friend played WoW for 7 years and never once visited any WoW related forum. she doesn't visit gaming forums of any kind.
a lot of the hate you see on forums is spoiled children with a few rational, well thought out complaints mixed in. i think it's a complete waste of time and money for Blizzard to have forums. a small percent of the total number of customers will just use it for bitching (usually about something stupid). and if a Bliz rep posts there it's not going to be seen by most of the players, just the whiners who won't be happy with anything.
they should dump most of the forums and just have guest posts for class and gameplay related topics. let players submit their own guides and such for approval and then have it posted with moderated comments and questions. that way when normal people actually visit the site they can see useful, relevant information instead of a few thousand brats going crazy and trolling.

YAH!, I make myself sick with the thought of how shitty I am. srsly though I hope gets hit by a bus, JK, srsly though I hope he gets splinters in his pee hole, jk.

It's true, sadly. The Forums, and most Official game forums are mainly a way for mean spirited, brats to complain and raise hell towards developers. I can see why he isn't at the front of the PR wave right now for sure. I really liked him throughout the dev cycle and listening to him talk at the Blizzcons. Sadly I think they were forced to cut down a lot of the things that would have made this game a lot stronger at release in order to get the darn thing out.
The gameplay and look is amazing. The server issues and itemization leave a lot to be desired. In time hopefully it will improve.
What he's likely doing is reevaluating a lot of things based on player feedback, as unimaginable as that sounds. What devs work on right now are also the dev blogs that we'll likely be seeing shortly for 1.0.4 that will bring the changes to legendary items and Magic Find mechanics along with some small class changes.
Those are big things and as I said I'm sure we'll be hearing from the dev team quite soon.

The fact we get to hear from the devs at all is a blessing. Most companies relay every little thing through a community manager.
