I just had a decent idea to fix the MF gear swap problem. Make the MF stat an item upgrade through the blacksmith. Start with a low price that increases exponentially until max. Have the max extremely expensive. This will give players the ability to have magicfind on any item, reducing the need to swap, and it will introduce another (very large) gold sink to the game. You could make the first MF upgrade something basic like +5% MF for 50k; the price could skyrocket from there.
Bashiok tweeted recently about this issue, so Blizzard is probably already working on something. I fear it will be a straight up nerf to NV stacks for swapping gear, which is bad.
**Don't NERF or PUNISH the player by removing stacks, this will only piss people off, instead give the player something they will enjoy!! More upgrades!! **
TL;DR: Get MF on any item through BS upgrade = no more MF swapping + huge gold sink.
Maybe they'll make it so that MF/GF only works after 30 seconds of equipping it. That would be the simplest solution imho without punishing people who haven't been doing that swapping.
I'm not sure how what they will do to remedy the "mf jars" issue. Honestly, I think they shouldn't even bother with it. Whatever, let the ecnomy be flooded with items
That's actually a pretty good idea. Maybe this could be how they bring the... Oh, what was she called, the third artisan... Sorceress? She basically enchanted your gear with stats. She could come back and enchant our gear with magic find and/or gold find, or maybe other stats too. Only optional stuff, not main stats, or else it'll feel necessary instead of a nice bonus.
I wish they would just let us play the game. People getting better drops is only better for the game and enjoyment. If I want to swap my gear let me. It's not like it's an exploit anyone can do it.
If we're going to change/add somthing.
Give us the ability to add sockets and give us a drop that can add MF to any item (Ist rune anyone?)
To be honest, this is a terrible idea. This removes the mf/dps/survivability balancing aspect of the gear from the game (it's supposed to be a choice whether you want to kill monster faster or have higher chance to drop rares). There's also a problem with whether this change should be retroactive? If the old mf gear still has mf then you don't exactly solve the problem. If you remove mf from all the old gears then you're going to have even more outrage than ias nerf...
What's even worse about this idea is that, once everyone can get mf, then nobody really does. If everyone is going to, at a fee, get flat out 100% chance at getting item then you might as well increase the repair fee and buff the baseline droprate for everyone.

The thing with that is that there's a lot of people who don't like swapping gear, yet feel forced to for the sake of efficiency. If people are feeling forced to do something, then something needs to be changed.
You may have no problem with it, but there's a lot who do. And yes, the game is meant to be fun, not work: that's why the change is needed.
I sincerely hope they just disable the option of swapping gear during combat.
If you want to run with a MF set it should be at the cost of less dps in general.
But I also miss the customization provided by the old runes, being able to work for a specific item (cube 1000s of runes to get that enigma) and just being able to craft "non-RNG" items (some rolls on the stats but compared to d3..).
Sadly Blizzard misunderstood the feedback regarding runewords, the problem with the old system was how those items got to be BiS, not that you could craft/work for getting items which would always be "good".
Overall the first post sounds like a good idea, the only problem for me and others is that it isn't "Diablo" having a MF set or a MF char is part of what most of us know as diablo, finding a piece of gear will really good MF was awesome, or specifically specc'ing for your MF set ect. just not the same when you just upgrade to pieces on your gear.
Not that its a bad idea, just doesn't have the same feel imo.
Or simply add a button that you can press to change sets, they had some shit similar in d2 when you pressed W, it was just for weapons tho I believe. The thing is the second set stays in their respective slots on a "secondary " position, so it won't take inventory, nor you have to modafokkin click every single item to switch, just press W and boom, changed.
