Does anyone remember any of the first images or videos once the game was released? Back in 2008 Blizzard already had some things put together but I can't find any of that old stuff online anymore. I'm curious to see some of the first images when it was announced, compared to the way things are right now.
the very first look of diablo 3 was COMPLETELY different, looked like a completely different game, then they changed it again in the beta pictures, as of between the beta and now, not sure how much it changed.
I've looked online, and I can't find anything older than like 2010...The biggest change I've seen was that the health/mana glasses were still red and blue, also there were Scroll's of Identify in the belt and inventory.
I remember this last one, it was I think from the first footage of D3 when it was announced. Everyone went ape shit because this was supposed to be an early boss, and there were supposed to be a lot of huge bosses like this spread out in different areas. The video ended when the barb was picked up and tossed around if i recall correctly.
You mean the first video of demo footage for the Barbarian (and some of the Witch Doctor) that we got like 3 years ago?
And you assume that 3 years ago they were set to show something specific to the game itself?
The environment shown in the video looks like the Cathedral, but that layout has never occurred. The section after (that leads up to said fight with a Siegebreaker Assault Beast) looks like it could be the Highlands (actually is, based on the screenshot's map name in the top-right, the "Leoric Highlands"), but again, that overall layout doesn't exist.
It was a demo, used for showcasing the gameplay of the mechanics, UI, and product, as it was, 3 years ago.

I never said I expected to play the 2008 version of D3...I'm simply pointing out the changes since announcement because I haven't seen them compared to today's version of the game.

I remember the very first time I finished Act I, I was disappointed that that boss and area weren't included. I just now realized it's what is now Act 3's second boss.
