Is it just me or does this community for the most part absolutely suck? They cry at 1.02b and now they cry at 1.03. It's like blizzards trying to please too many retards who are incompetent when it comes to the diablo series. Many of these cry babies are typical wow players, and I got news for you all. Go back to wow and keep your non diablo experience out of the forums. This game has a lot of diablo 2 feel to it, so I'm pleased for the most part.
Haters gunna hate, in reality your meager voices will stay small because you trolls don't even know what your TALKING about.
Indeed but it's pathetic these kids are smart enough to make curse accounts, but they cannot understand how to build classes properly and they are crying their glass cannon playstyle isnt in check anymore.
I always thought the WoW community was bad (at least after the first few years), but yeah, the Diablo community is even worse. Just full of whiners and haters.
Dont even go comparing D3 to D2 because D3 has absolutely nothing on D2. D2 is a classic game that can be placed within top 10 of the best pc games of all time while D3 is a subpar game influenced heavily by one of the worst games in the history of mankind - WOW.
The whole D3 project is built around RMAH to squeeze out as much profit from it as possible. If you have at least a heap of knowledge in marketing strategies you will find sense in my statements. If not, well.. keep on playing your beloved game.
Mate. You're exactly the kind of player we're talking about in this thread.

+100% this game is by far on par with diablo 2. D2 was strictly Baal runs and there was zero challenge once you got a source or hpal with godly gear. I'm talking infinity cta and the whole nine. The game was a joke in hell a big damn joke and the pvp was duels. Once arena gets implemented there will be a big diff. D2 literally gets old in the first week of ladder.
d3 isn't the worst thing in the world or anything, but it certainly is a let down.
i wouldn't say its a minority this time... the official forums are unreadable. TBH i am very disappointed with the game as a whole after inferno.i got to act 4 before any nerfs, in only 130 hours... very casually honestly. i was a wiz ofc but i was a crit stacker with only 17% IAS. all i did was buy up silly deals on the AH and resell them for huge profits early on after release. it wasn't hard to find a few great amulets from level 44 newbies in the first week for 100k each, then relist them a week later after all the cookie cutter builds were out for millions. not hard, and not really fun either. definitely not what i'd consider 'great gameplay.'
it wasn't that hard to do inferno thru act 4. it was just annoying. i am a 10+ year veteran 'AH player' in tons of MMOs since Ultima Online, so i planned way ahead for the auction house and did well on it right away. i don't even login to the game now, i just play the AH. it is more fun, and less time wasted than the actual game... which is a real shame =(
its one thing to be tempted to buy items to compete in a game because the game is FUN and awesome to play. its another thing to feel OBLIGATED to buy items just to be able to play the crappy game AT ALL. nobody wants that, not even me - and im profiting from it!!

The kind capable of critical thinking?
Nah, the mindless whining kind. The kind that pollutes every single thread with negativity.
Dude, this is not a community. It is a pack of hysterical, shrieking jackals filled with endless rage than something in the world might ever go in a way other than the way they would prefer.
I guess i'm one of those minority dissenters. I didn't think inferno was too hard....I just don't enjoy the game, at all. I bought it, played it for 3 weeks, and stopped. This is coming from a Diablo player since Godly Plate Mail of the Whale.
I'm not bitching, I'm not crying, I'm just disappointed is all. A LOT of people feel the same way and because of the nature of the beast, gaming forums are the only way to show their displeasure. Most of them aren't very good at posing their displeasure in a concise and thoughtful manner, so you get a lot of people with emotional comments that do nothing but inflame people to argue with them. Since I stopped playing, I've actually gotten more enjoyment out of reading these and the official forums than I had from playing the actual game. Sad.
Also, don't even get me started about the people complaining that people are complaining. *glances at OP*
P.S. "you trolls don't even know what your TALKING about." -that made me lol for a variety of reasons.
D3 is just another game right now that will fade in time. Everyone anticipates D3 being BETTER than D2. No one is expecting it to be the SAME. But Blizzard failed on that part which is why many are complaining. If you like D3, that's great. Everyone has different expectations. Those who have played D2 (a majority) will most likely dislike the way D3 currently is. Most D3 fans probably never played D2 (or at least never did well in it) which is why their expecations are different.
All in all, D2 left behind a legacy. D3? Highly unlikely.

That's a ridiculous and baseless statement.
I think the more accurate statement isn't that most D2 players dislike D3....it's, Most players that dislike D3 are veteran D2 players. They expected one thing, got something different, and now are miffed.
Newbs to the franchise went in with an open mind and don't see what all the fuss is about.

To qualify that one step further towards something remotely resembling a true statement...Most players that dislike D3 are veteran D2 players who wanted to play 10+ years worth of refined and patched D2 with updated graphics, got something different and are now miffed.
I would agree with the OP since most Blizzard games have a massive player base and things don't always go smoothly for launch so people will cry foul every moment that something they don't agree with happens. However, it's hard to ignore not only the amount of negativety (all popular topics on the official forums seem to be about how bad the game is) and for how long it has been going on. The reason I say it's hard to ignore is because most of the so-called QQers/whiners/troll actually construct well-thoughtout and well-written posts that do a great job of expressing their displeasure. It's not the simple knee-jerk reaction of "this patch blows" but giving no reason as to why. I am certain that those people do not want to take the time out of their day just to post a wall-o-text for giggles. So unless you actually take the time to read these fine pieces of literature, then I wouldn't be quick to call everyone cynicial or crybabies.
Let's not forget, Blizzard put in a ninja hotfix about a week ago to limit how many games we could create/join for "server stability." It was the so-called QQers/whiners/trolls that flooded the forums with complaints that Blizzard removed it within hours. It was a no-brainer to almost everyone that they shouldn't have implemented that. It's because of these poor, mind-boggling decisions that people are so cynical. So how does one differeniate a crybaby that cries for the sake of crying and one that cries for changes they know should happen? It seems the OP has lumped both in the same boat.
I think it's great that people have differences of opinion about the game, I just tend to find that most who are not happy with it offer better constructive arguements then those who feel the game is great. Also, noone is forcing people to read those crybaby posts...if you don't agree, don't read it then. But to complain about complainers....

Pretty much. I admit that I fall mostly into that category. The fundamental playstyle difference is a huge change from previous games and I just do not enjoy the new direction at all. They turned Diablo 3 into a mutant offspring of an ARPG and an MMO.
Diablo 2: Kill things easy. Trading was mostly small scale, so you were more apt to grind for your own gear. Drop rates were balanced higher because of the small scale of trade. If you wanted an Oculus, you had to find it (which wasn't unreasonable to think) or make an effort to trade for one. You farmed for items to use.
Diablo 3: Kill things very hard. Trading is so large scale, that it's hard to argue that it's not the most prominent part of the entire game. With that instant availability of items, drop rates are balanced very low so as not to flood the market any more than it already is. If you want a uh....what's a good legendary?....you buy it off the AH. You farm items for gold.
