The game got a ton eaiser for me as a semi-geared barb. I cleared act 3 pre nerf, bearly. Post nerf i cleared act 4 with maybe 3 deaths, and one shot diablo with 5 stacks. It is a ton eaiser for mele now. If you are still having problems you are doing something wrong. The nerf is to the point that if I put aside my lack of patience, and get the right gear, I am pretty sure I can get hardcore cleared.
Are people ACTUALLY crying about how HARD the game is now ?
LOLWTF...
Inferno got nerfed by like 50 % or more.. and you still cannot manage?
Chances are good that you sir, are in fact terribad beyond measure. Good day.
Even inferno before the nerf was easy, even for fucking barbs (If you had half a brain and knew how to farm a little and play the markets like a smart person)....
Just face it - no matter what Blizzard does, someone will come and QQ about something. Generally i have to agree with the last few posters - if you're QQing = you're shit and there's no arguing about it, admit it, fix it and move on with your life. I mean really do you expect the tennis ball to bounce into your racket every time you swing it?
If after playing since '3rd day after release' and you said you farmed up a total of 4.5 mil gold.... i'm sorry what? If you played since 3rd day after release and you ONLY pick up gold that drops that would be about right, may be you didn't know that items drop in the game? The items are those bluish or yellowish lines of text that you can see when you press ALT by default...
Wait that's not the end of the story, you just played for 3 hours and you found absolutely nothing worth selling? Ok, again did you know you can pick up items? If you did, and you had nothing to sell on AH, did you just kill 1 mob that dropped a white item in 3 hours? If not, then you're just shit again. Because on average in every 20 items i find i can sell at least 1 of them on AH for anything randomly ranging from 50-400k gold. If you don't see anything at all worth selling after 3 hours = you just REALLY DON"T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT AH.

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."
Well, as a barb, I'm still under geared, badly. Since I started playing (3rd day after the release), I've collected about 4.5 mil gold, spent about 1.5 of that in gear and my barb has: 800 resists, 10k DPS, 44k health, 1200 LoH.
I can farm act 1 Inferno. That is it.
1.0.3 came out, I tried to do A2, died a few times on champ packs, repaired for 15k a few times, lost gold on that o'course, found nothing worth of anything, and now I'm back trying A1.
I have the exact same feeling as you do. It seems to me that I'll be playing A1 for the next 6 months, until prices drop or something else changes, because I can't for the good of me make 100mil to spend on gear like some other folks do.
If it was not for gear in the AH, I would probably still be stuck in Nightmare.
Well then you seriously need to learn how to play. Face tanking without moving like normal to inferno act 1 will not work anymore, and that is a good thing. Would be boring otherwise.
With 600 resists, 45k hp, 0 LoH and wielding no shield I was farming act 2 just fine pre-patch. And so have many others, hell ppl with just slightly better stats than yours have been farming Siegebreaker no prob. People like you will get this game over-nerfed.
fer,
I don't want to get the game over-nerfed, nor was I standing on shit or not moving. However, I do like to engage in close combat, yes.
To me, the whole kiting is not why I play a barbarian. If I wanted that, I would play another class. That is just me, not saying it must be done like that.
After I posted, I changed from dual wielding to S&B, got two new pieces and the barb is now with 1100 physical resists, 1000 fire, 900 the rest. Armor only 8k, and health 45k. DPS dropped to 8k as LoH to 400. Look good right?
I then find a champion pack in the sewers, A2. Leap + charge where not enough to keep me alive with the mob having freeze + waller + nightmarish + arcane.
Problem was being walled on top of desecration, or frozen to death (literally) for 5 or 6 seconds with chain freezes.
Died twice, got the pack killed, and moved on. However, my feeling is that it should not had been that. Knowing to move out of crap and keeping clear of the arcane sentries was not enough. Why? Because the pack had 4 mobs. They simply can cast a lot of stuff and you simply don't have the CDs to survive.
That is why I'm still saying there is room to improve, at least for me. Once I got ONE of the four down, it was so much easier, after the second it was a walk in the park, I could kill them with one finger, literally.
But when they chain freeze + damage + damage on the floor, that is where I simply don't have the health pool to sit there and eat damage for so long.
Take that out, and I've been enjoying A2 pretty much so far. I'm still wondering how A3 will be.
However, that is not how I like to play. Do I suck then? Well, maybe for you I do, but what is the point of playing then if you can not do so as you like?
This patch have made the game harder and the auction house more relative than ever...and for my demon hunter, it will be more challenging now! I like it!
All they had to do was give a higher drop percentage of gear in Act 1 that would help us in Act 2. I did weeks worth of butcher runs to find nothing that would help me with Act 2. They made it so I need resist all for my barb to progress in inferno. Yet resist all gear barely dropped and when it did, it wasn't enough of the stat to make Act 2 worth trying.
They forced us to sell all the medicore gear on the AH to save up for that one piece that would help us.
the official forums are flooded with people quitting over 1.03
Yeah but it's a blizzard game so people promise to quit and boycott and twist their friends' arms until they quit if their IRL mail is 5 minutes late.
Trying to come to any logical conclusion based on official forum posts is not a well thought out move. The simple truth is that people who are dissatisfied are more likely to voice their opinion than people who are happy. When is the last time you asked to speak to a manager at a restaurant because you were super happy with your meal and service? Complaining is also contagious plus pack mentality blah blah psychobabble, I won't bore anyone with the specifics here. Some people are unhappy with the patch, others aren't. Either way, who cares?! Everyone has a simple choice, keep playing or don't. It's astonishing to me how many people would rather keep doing something they hate and complain about it as opposed to finding something else to do that they actually enjoy. Come on, life is too short and video games are not that serious. "Generation Entitled" in full force.
I hurried home from work today, skipping my tuesday night golf league after anticipating this patch all day. I log in and play for 3 hours to find this:
-nothing seems any easier in act 2(loss in dps offset lesser dmg/health pools)
-gold drops seem to be a ton less than previous
-even worse drops and fewer rares than before the patch(not one rare till 5 stack buff-and i had 124% without the NV buff)(and the few drops I did get were lvl 50-59)
-Hello 20-30k repair bills(makes no sense to farm anything-I lose more gold than I make, and the drops are even more terrible than before so I cant even sell anything on the auction house)
This is very discouraging, wishing I had the previous patch back. At least then after 2 hours of play I had something to show for my time even if it was 30k gold. Now I play for 2 hours and after vendering all the junk and paying repairs i have even less gold then I started with, which sucks because it seems the AH is the only way to get any decent gear because it sure does not drop for me.
In conclusion, I still cannot get past magda and now im even more broke then before, looks like ill put all my blizzard games aside for now:(
Is anyone else witnessing the same thing?
Dont know what class your playing but I have to say either you have poor gear, poor skill or just strait up poor luck
- I know I was doing much better then I was pre-patch. Oh I still die occasionally or run from a difficult pack, but for the most part easier.
- I made enough gold to pay all my repairs and still end up 100k up for the night just playing through quests in act one.
- I think I came across perhaps 40~50 rares last night 5 AH worthy, 4 I am keeping for alts, a few that are not worth much money so I scraped them and the rest I sold to vender. Of all of those I think only 10-15 of them were below ilvl 60 so Bad luck on your part? Also I only have 58% MF without NV and I was getting 1 gold every other pack or so until I hit 5NV then I had occasions where I was getting 3-4 rares from elites
So I don't know what to tell you other then, welcome to Diablo? Grind a lower act or difficulty until you have sufficient gear? The game is not meant to be beaten without grinding for hundreds of hours? But you have heard it all already before so I don't know what else I can say. I think they did a decent job with this patch. They still have a ways to go but I would say I am having a lot more fun now.
I am extremly happy with 1.0.3 leveled a monk up to be ready for the patch, just hit 60 yesterday (normaly play a wiz) I spent like 100k on the AH getting some decent resist/armor gear.
Started inferno with 180 to all resists 6k armor and 22k hp 9001 DPS. I played before 1.3 and had no problem I am built for a defensive build but I enjoy it, switching up my play style from my glass cannon wizard.
Now in 1.0.3 I have been having a blast, I can actually group with my friends again cause we aren't getting one shotted. So last night we ran Act 1 from rumford at the gate to the spider queen twice. The NV buff + elite packs is awesome to be honest I was getting annoyed how many times I had to go back to town now to sell all my blues/crappy yellows. I kept track of how much gold I made and it was 300k for the the two runs. That is without selling anything on the AH. With three friends playing with me it was great we were trading upgrades and having a blast being able to actually use class synergy to blow everything up.
Without spending another dime on the AH just using the gear we found I am up to 300 resist all 7k armor (with spec I hit 11k armor while fighting) 34k hp and 15k dps.
If your having trouble keeping up with act2-4 repair bills farm act 1 twice as fast as act 2, even if the drop rate is half of act two you die less and get more chances for a 61-62 ilvl item to get a "perfect roll" and just as many 63's.
People should state their class with their posts so that I do not have to assume that QQ is always from IAS Stacking Demon Hunters that are now just glass without as much cannon and that 1.03 supporters are monks and barbs that can not actually progress without spending millions on the AH.
I can see where the Demon Hunters would be upset but do you really think that your 50-80k dps was where it should be by stacking one stat? They announced this nerf a week or so ago and I am betting most people kept buying stuff that they new would get nerfed or should have known. If you are not following previews and blue posts in a game that is going to be changing quite a lot then shame on you.

put it back to normal and the mass QQ will prob go away - but we all knew it was coming and expected it.
ppl with loads of resists cant get past fucking act 2 cause they got low dps wtf yr expecting .....
get more dps tbfh
drops ??? too little too much ??? stop qqing this isnt wow where a garanteed drop from a set table of loot comes from a boss
this is likely my 1st and last post on this forum
Wasn't even close to 50 percent

JonasSK,
I'm pretty sure I can complete the game at any time, however, that is not what I'm looking for.
What I'm looking for is to enjoy the game, farm here and there, and feel that I'm progressing somehow.
For example, SaracenS was doing a fantastic job, even before the nerf:
