You can't buy anything from the Blizzard store. You can't gift games for friends. You can't buy WoW subscription time. Am I missing something or is the Battle.net balance completely useless?(Guild/character transfers are not useful for 99% of the player base)
personally i though it was kinda neat , put about 25% of what i sell for to have some fun with and make some quick deals (1d12hrs kinda deal) and the rest i send to paypal to have as a piggie bank for a trip or something when it gets colder over here
I am not against trading of items, and the AH's are exactly that, trading, just faster, easier, etc.
I sell stuff on the RMAH, and put it to BB, and if I see a steal of a priced item on there, I will buy it with said BB, then either resell it on the RMAH, or sell it on the GAH, or maybe even use said item myself.
Same goes for the GAH.
I have yet to put a single dime of my own cash into the system, and plan to keep it that way.
At some point, when im farming Inferno for gear, I may decide to PayPal out some cash, not sure yet.
Blizzard intend on allowing you to use battle.net balance for those things. Eventually. Give them some time.
I'm sure they do, but for now it's not worth it until we get a confirmation that it will be updated in a reasonable amount of time. Why keep putting money into your balance in the hopes that blizzard will update it, when you can be guaranteed with Paypal that the money can be used for RL items?
Now on the other hand if you're one of those people who only use the RMAH for in-game items, with no intention of "cashing out", then the balance is just another currency like your gold. My question is this though, why not just stick to the gold AH? The prices there are much more reasonable then the $250 half the RMAH is going for.
Can you not send your bnet ballance to your paypal...like a waiting period til you have SMS function set up or something?
Edit: No you cant, but you can always work with a friend you trust that does have the paypal and sms set up and buy a trash item from them and then trade the funds back to your paypal account...
...for anyone that may have over looked this situation or simply didnt have an active cellphone at the time.
