Anyone else miss Baal & Chaos runs and doing mf mephisto, pindle, andy, etc runs?
I REALLY miss it and grinding to 99 doing it. I'm not too big of a fan of the whole "story" mode that they went with D3. I like being able to jump around from act to act and kill whatever boss I want.
I also kind of enjoyed the grind to 99... gave you something to really work toward and I felt accomplished with each level I earned.
There are boss runs in D3, but it evolves killing enemies, not skiping content.
I kind agree with you about levels. I never bought the end game idea of fixing the level nad progression being item only. I mean, why grind items alone is better then grind levels and items ?
I too do not understand the whole way they organized quests/maps. I mean, i can't see one possible advantage compared to D2's system...
Nope. I much prefer the challenge and change of playing through mobs as opposed to doing the exact same thing over and over and over.
As per the level cap, it never did much for me. Sure, at one point there was a "I'll try and get 99," but once I realized that to do so would take so many hour of tedium for little game (imo), I stopped doing it. I would have supported some sort of over level feature that let people get an achievement for hitting 65 or something, as long as Blizzard didn't hide any skills in there (I'd be okay with the measily 6 points they give out at each level).
I liked boss runs but I think it was because you had a good chance at getting a brown or green item to drop 1/4 times. It could have been something horrible but at least it was fun seeing it drop and checking the stats to see if it was perfect ect ect.

thats what i miss, when i killed them, most of the time a unique or set would drop, now 87k kills later and still no legend or set drop, thats whats killing my gameplay for me right now, just increase the drop rate and ill be all happy again.
I'm doing siege runs nonstop. Rakkis crossing wp, kill 5 elites, look for underbrigde chest, kill SB, repeat, takes about 15-20 minutes, but phat lewts.
And as its standard for blizzard, they nerfed underbridge and SB, after all we are not supposed to farm for gear in a farming game, we need to use their brand new RMAH and farm with a credit card.
And we can't play the game the way we want, we are supposed to farm entire acts, because, in Noob Wilson words, the ''story is so great, and has so much replaybility, players are supposed to experience it all the time''.
Get real, folks, the diablo you all knew is dead, a few years ago i said right here in this forum that D3 had a pretty good chance of being blizzard first bust (i was flamed to death ofc), and what you know, its not even beta and its already looking that way.
No, i miss having drops that are above my characters current level so i can have the anticipation of leveling up to use those items instead of going to the AH and buying the stuff i need for my current level
just because rushing bosses isn't the most lucrative doesn't mean you can't do it...i find it a lot of fun to kill challenging elite packs THEN kill a boss and have a huge stack of free MF/GF + bonus rares.
I actually like the current boss-runs. You smash through 5 elites, and murder an easy(ish) boss at the end for your reward. It's like a cold beer after mowing the lawns. Sort of. Analogies suck.
No, it wasn't fun back then and it isn't fun now. Diablo 2 would be a disaster if it was released today.
The Nephalem Valor is more interesting even though it goes away if you log out, now I'm saying "more interesting" but I don't find the old boss farming interesting at all so perhaps that tells a bit 'bout me being burnt out with the game.

What are your thoughts?
I do miss Meph and Baal runs a little though. Andy to a lesser degree.

Makes me sick, every time..
I like both!
So what i do is get 5 stacks and kill a boss... yay for doing it the way blizz wants us to?
I'm not sure why you'd miss them when you can still do them...

the feel of it in D3 is just....off.
I miss the aspects of D2.
