Well today I was in a group with friends (4 of us) farming act 1 inferno with 5 stacks of valor, the usual. So I happen to join trade chat (which is buggy as fuck btw) and I had several good deals present themselfs. Why should I need to leave and lose 5 stacks of valor to complete a deal? A simple COD function would Safice. I'll tell you why...
Blizzard is gready. They are pushing people into the auction house even if they don't want to.
Yes I use the auction house but 99% of the time I'm capped at 10 auctions. I like selling stuff in trade so I can get pure profit and no auction downtime. This needs to be fixed ASAP.
At first I was wondering what you were smoking, but you make an excellent point. The ability to COD items would be fantastic, due to losing neph stacks and the AH cap.
I wouldn't hold your breath. Blizzard won't implement one in D3 because they don't want to deal with the gold-sellers using it all the time. There's several WoW things like mailboxes that you *won't* see here because of those issues.
I have a couple solutions/ideas for you. First, don't join trade chat until you're done playing, especially if you're trying to stack NV buffs. Second, although you lose some money using the AH due to Blizzard's 15% cut, taking that cut out is actually going to help keep the economy healthier for longer, so as far as the longevity of the game goes, it's worth it to me. That is also the reasoning behind the 10 auction limit. Mailboxes would open up a slew of exploitable mechanics, it seems.

i would choose my own religion and worship my own spirit, but if he ever preached to me i wouldn't want to hear it. i'd drop him, a forgotten god, languishing in shame; and then if i hit stormy seas, i'd have myself to blame.
ohmaigawd REALLLLLLYYYY? Blizzard is greedy and wants 15% of your virtual gold so they don't put in a mailbox?
It's threads like this with OP's like this that don't get Blizzards attention. You immediately jump to some far off conclusion with conspiracy theories and rants. If you had actually made a constructive post (it could have been as simple as ' hey let's have a mailbox that'd be cool' ) they I'd be on board. But simply because of your attitude I will not sign your rant.
Well I kinda agree there needs to be a better way to trade then the dead trade chat. But a mailbox sounds too greedy. So you can trade and farm with 5 stacks? If you want to trade, trade, if you want to farm, farm. I think a mailbox idea is good for the example of, I find a good monk weapon and my brother plays a monk, i can just send it to him instead of stashing it and letting it take up my precious stash space. Like the Steam Gift thing. I could put more thought into this but this is it for me
Also, please explain to me how Blizzard taking a 15% cut of gold is somehow 'greedy'.
I cant see a reason why its greedy, but there are other valid reasons like being a main goldsink and stopping people from spending all thier time playing on the market getting gold there instead of playing the game.
Yep. To be clear, I have no problem with the fees. Gold sinks are needed.
It's just silly to accuse Blizzard of being 'greedy' because they take a cut of gold. Greedy would have been running the RMAH where they take actual cash.

However, getting a cut of the action on the RMAH makes sense, though. The entire intellectual property that created the items being sold for the RL cash is theirs after all, so anyone getting cash is making money from Blizzard's intellectual property. I'd want a cut, too, if I owned the means of making said cash in the first place.
I was under the impression they will be taking a cut of the RMAH sales.
How is the transaction fee determined?
A nominal fixed transaction fee will be deducted from the seller for each item listed in the auction house. This fee consists of a fixed charge to list the item, which is assessed whether or not the item is successfully sold, and an additional fixed charge that is assessed only if the item is sold. Because the listing portion of the fee is charged even if the item doesn’t sell, it will be in the seller’s interest to list items he or she believes other players will be interested in, and to do so at a competitive price. Specific details related to the transaction fee for the currency-based auction house will vary by region and will be announced at a later date.
Please note that we plan to waive the listing portion of the fee for a limited number of transactions per account. In other words, for these transactions, the seller will only pay a transaction fee if the item is successfully sold, and that fee will not include the listing charge. We’ll have further details on this as well at a later date.

Oh, they are. No doubt about that. And I don't see a problem. Anyone selling something is making money from Blizzard's intellectual property. In the real world, if you own the means of production, you get a cut of what was made on it.
That's an old copy of the FAQ, too. They have eliminated listing fees for RMAH. It's just $1.00 (for US) on sold items and some percentage on commodities sold. If it doesn't sell, no cost to the seller.

Yeah, I'm excited about the idea of it, but I have this sinking feeling that everyone is going to dump their crap on the AH and it's going to be just like the US housing market - too many sellers, non-existent buyers.

I'm gonna start a petition to stop people from starting dumb ass petitions.
Gotta seem strong somewhere, why not the internet.

I actually think a mailbox should be implemented into the game.
However, starting a petition for changes to the game is bad enough, but starting one on a non-blizzard affiliated website is just.. dumb.
