Then why the fuck their drop rate is almost 0?, I don't get it, it goes against Blizzard idea of the use of the items IMO. I got 3 characters, 2 in inferno, and 1 in hell, not ONE legendary so far.. this is fucking ridiculous...
The legendaries can be a little better I would say, especially since they added some randomness to them, it's too easy for non legendaries to be better. Either that or the chance to drop should increase a bit.
It's not as bad aas you make it seem though. I had one drop out of a barrel type object with about 70% MF in Normal mode with only 25-30 hours played. The AH is filled with tons of legendaries, so just because one person has bad luck doesn't mean necessarily mean there is a problem.
Legendary drops are pretty low but I honestly want them to be. People are thinking too much in the short term. This game needs to last a while and legendary drop rates should be low. Admittedly they could be itemized a bit better. Like D2 they should have unique properties that make them completely different than any rare or magic that drops. Not necessarily leagues better but very different. Think Twitchthroe and Iceblink. The game got too full of the same items back when everyone duped in D2. Having items meant literally nothing. Not to be elitist at all but more in the vein that the game is more fun when you actually get things to drop.
i checked the AH for highest dps weapons at lvl 60 that are x-bows
the whole first two pages were all blues....not legendaries or even rares....magics
With a horrible drop rate, we're in week 2 of launch, I'm really not surprised. I think most of the best Legendaries out there are being used by the players that found them. I know if I found a high Legendary crossbow, I would use it. And if I found another better one after that, I would check with all my friends to see if they need one.
I'm not dismissing the claim that Legendary drops need improvement. I'm just saying your observation doesn't substantially mean what you say it does.
I also agree that if the drop rate of Legendary items is going to be practically zero (which is fine) then it needs to be superior to yellows and blues. But if it's going to be so commonplace for blues and yellows to exceed Legendary stats, then the drop rate needs to be addressed. I've logged over 120 hours and have found 1 Legendary. It was useable, but then I found a Yellow a few hours later that was better and replaced it. The Legendary got salvaged and I haven't seen one since. :|
*edit* Lightning struck my brain. I'm also guessing high level Legendaries are being held back until the RMAH. Why the hell would you post BiS Legendary gear in the AH (even for 10 million gold) when you can probably get... I dunno, $85 for a BiS bow in the RMAH?
I know the drop should be low, I agree with that.. but come on... at least give me 1 or 2 legendaries per dificulty...
i personally think legendaries across the board need to be buffed to be marginally ~5%? better than an equivalent rare/magic etc, thus justifying their rarity. i personally found Maloth's Focus and Messerschmidt's Reaver... both which are on the AH for 100k
Yeah, the problem with Legendaries really isn't their drop rate... it's the stats. They shouldn't necessarily immediately be the best items in the game, but they should have a "chance" of being the best items in the game. Right now... they're guarunteed to *not* be... that's just wrong. At the very least give them an equal or even slightly higher chance of having the same stats that a blue item can.
Have any of you ever played D2, or have you just forgotten? Elite uniques were excessively rare and almost never fell. The drop rate for Legendaries isn't 0%....it's actually less than 0%....as in .015 (just an example) or something similar.
Just like rares, which almost all are crap when they drop, same goes for legendaries. Legendaries CAN be very, very good, but that's extremely rare. Roll that into the fact that their drop is extremely rare and you won't find almost any worth a damn in week 2 of release. Give it some time.
Anybody else remember classic D2 where the uniques and sets were only in Normal mode? So even a NM blue was better than any unique or set in the game?
They added new ones in LOD but runewords kind of ruined it, to the point where everything was junk other than a few massively OP runewords and the class-specific sets, and everyone wore exactly the same gear. I like that rares and some magics are back to being the best gear given they're random, but it'd be nice if some legendaries were still competitive. I expect they'll address it in a patch or expansion or something. I just really hope they don't bring back something like runewords, where the whole game ends up revolving around them rendering everything else worthless.
Legendary drop rate is fine, their itemization however is not. I want there to be gear that is insanely rare and on top of that hard to get a perfect roll. It means that even with millions playing, you'll be lucky to see 1 or 2 of your favorite item perfectly rolled on the RMAH (or gold AH if the conversion rate makes you more money there...assuming people don't go to 3rd parties to avoid Blizzard's high fees).
Rares can stay as "rare" (which isn't very) now since the "rare" part should be getting a decent roll on them. Blues should just be stop-gaps in between expensive crafting or good rare rolls. I really wanted and expected blues to just be crafting fodder once you had some decent gear but now I just vendor them for gold since I can just buy the best stuff on the AH for next to nothing.
So, as far as drops go, they could stand to be boosted...a bit. Particularly the low level unqiues. I've always wondered why they make low level uniques rare. I mean, you only find them when all your items are like 4 times better.
But I imagine one reason why no Uniques (I refuse to call them Legendaries) are on the AH is because they are A) being used, being saved for the RMAH, and C) being used for mats.
The drop rate for Legendaries isn't 0%....it's actually less than 0%....as in .015 (just an example) or something similar.
.015 is not less than zero...
It was a joke. I guess I should've made my sarcasm clear. I was being ironic, because I find it quite stupid and/or misinformed for people to be so frustrated at the infrequency of the drops
lol....just making a point that Legendaries are excessively rare by design, as they should be. I agree that they need more Legendaries and they need to be a bit more worthy of their hype and low drop rate.
It's alllllllll based on RNG and luck. I got two legendaries off of one mob. Then I went out of the cellar and opened a chest to find yet another one. Now if only I could win the mega millions jackpot IRL :/
