So finally I made my first toon. After all the constant turmoil with how I would make my first toon I settled on the Wizard. So how did I come up to this choice? It simply was the one selected. I kinda had a rule, if the Monk, Barb, or Wizard were selected when I loaded I would pick them, If the Witch Doctor was selected I would go Wizard, and if the Demon Hunter was selected I would go Barb.
Well Wizard popped up first and tada here I am. So did you have a crazy story to your final last minute selection, or was it written in the stars?
I was really torn between WD and Barb, I ended up taking Barb because its a really easy class to play on normal mode and I'm trying to crush through the content (hitting everything) as fast as possible on my first play through.
I'm really looking forward to my WD playthrough though!
When i finally defeated the error 37 boss, choosing a barbarian just came naturally, I had been torn as to which to start with, but just like the beta, I choose a barbarian, and i'm loving every minute of it.
I still haven't choose my first character yet. Had computer issues last night plus work in the morning so when my shift is over, hopefully I will 'know' which one to choose. Demon Hunter or Witch Doctor or Barb or Monk...Not a fan of wizard play myself, guess I gotta try each one out to figure it out.
I still don't have my game. I was recommended a Monk, I played a Monk in beta and I feel it would be the right choice. It's not a heavy class (Barb) and it has some utility, buffs and even healing.
However I feel that in Diablo ranged classes have much more power because everything is kiteable. Or maybe I am missing something?
Barbs and monks have passive damage reduction which compensates for the lack of range.
I tried them all to level 5 last night and went with the character I thought I would pick: Witch Doctor ...I just felt at ease, it's colourful and she looks a great scary tribal version of how I would like to be if I ever ran into Sanctuary myself . Only thing I have to get used to is not running into packs haha
The classes that dissapointed me a little were the Demon Hunter (Expected it a little, but it was bland and boring to me) and the Barbarian (My second choice after WD, but once in-game I didnt really feel the connection, and the sounds are too loud for my taste)
Only level 11 now but it's a lot of fun , lots of lore too
you should try the DH after level 12. that's when they really get fun
