can someone find me the post about,
a person purchasing the annual pass and also getting the collectors edition and being able to call customer service and receive the diablo three game key. was this changed or is it still standing,
Hence being able to give said key to friend or what not.
I don't believe such a thing was ever stated. What happens when you get the CE when you also have the AP is that when you input the CE, you get four free months of WoW as compensation for buying the full game again.

Not sure what you're asking... but if you get the annual pass AND the CE, like the guy said above, you get 4 months of game time added. So you're basically paying $40 for the CE.
You can play on launch with your annual pass. Just input the code on b.net when you get the CE and you'll receive your rewards.
What if I purchase the Diablo III Collector's Edition?
If you choose to add your Collector's Edition license key to the Battle.net account associated with your World of Warcraft Annual Pass promotion, you will receive all of the benefits of the Collector's Edition. Additionally, you will receive four months of World of Warcraft game time, which will count towards your 12 month subscription commitment for the Annual Pass. After you purchase the Diablo III Collector's Edition, add the product key to the Battle.net account that contains a World of Warcraft account that is signed up for the Annual Pass. That World of Warcraft account will then receive the next four months of game time free. For example, if you already have a month of game time on the associated World of Warcraft account when you add your Diablo III
That is from the Annual Pass FAQ.

Bashiok actually did state that if you have a normal D3 on your account and you buy the CE - you can contact customer support and attempt to get a D3 cd-key.
Funny that the people posting in here haven't seen that message from Bashiok >_>

Bashiok did say something about that.
However: a CS representative has stated that you can't get refunds / reimbursements.

I was going to play a Demon Hunter, but my friend and I are playing together and he chose it first. We don't want to both play the same class at the same time so I went with Barb. Kind of glad I did too, because I am loving it.

Key thing here guys. if you have a "normal D3" annual pass will turn to 4 months, however if you buy a digital game, they will switch keys is what was said..

I think what people misunderstand is this: The annual pass version of Diablo 3 has NO KEY. On launch day you are NOT given a key to enter in order to access Diablo 3. Your account is auto. flagged for the game and no key is needed or ever created.
If you purchase the Collector's edition, you have to enter the key that comes in the box. Once that key is entered your account becomes flagged for a collectors edition and you gain said benefits. Such as CE stuff and 4 months of WoW game time. This 4 months of WoW gametime is only granted if you are an annual pass subscriber.
You CANNOT call Blizzard and try to get the standard edition key and give it to your friend/family/second account. Bashiok's statement I believe was in reference to buying the digital version and then a collectors edition, which is when you can call get a refund or key for the Stanard edition you purchased. This is for people who want to play at server launch and pick a CE at a later time.
In conclusion, you CANNOT give a friend your annual pass Diablo 3 key because it does not exist. I think that is what OP was trying to ask, if not sorry, but I know a lot of people are wondering how to get the "Annual Pass D3 Key", which does not exist.
At least according to my understanding, I could be a total dumbass.
EDIT: Fixed what I said about what Bashiok said. My bad
