I think it's hilarious that you think Blizzard will release a game in a year that it has yet to announce.
^ true story..
Heart of the Swarm is mostly multiplayer testing (single player is easier to "tune" I'd say) and they won't release it in less than 2 years (my bad here - I meant 2 years from the original game's release), and that's just an expansion.
They recently announced that quite a few units planned for HotS multiplayer were removed from the game (and they probably have no idea what to do now, lol - some were amazing btw :fret:). So yeah, Blizz's next mmo, probably 5-6 years from now...
1) I haven't played D3 yet, except for the open beta. I have no idea how much fun endgame will be and how its replayability will compare to D2.
2) There is absolutely zero information known about Titan, even basic things like general game category except for MMO (and remember that MMO does not equal MMORPG, I've even seen speculation that it will be some sort of 1st-person shooter MMO). Everything anybody thinks they know about Titan is pure speculation, so I have no idea what to expect and if it will be a game I'm interested in.
3) Titan is not even announced yet. SC2 took 3 years from announcement to release. D3 took 4 years. I'm not too concerned about gaming-related things that may or may not happen in 2015 or later.
They really don't have anything to work on in 2013 other than that mmo, except maybe the final SC2 expac, and maybe the 1st D3 xpac.
Right... nothing else. Nothing like multiple major content patches for Mists of Pandaria and starting to develop the concept for the WoW expansion to follow MoP. Oh yeah, and the announced console version of Diablo III. Yeah... nothing to work on at all.

I hope you're wrong. I was hoping for some Blizzard DotA in the near future.
That thing is so far off its laughable at this point. Why would you even link that.
Its so old, even if it was legit it would be off by miles.
Also, HoTS is not going to be 2 years away.... It should be out in a year at the absolute most, but probably late this year. All the hard work is already done, the engine, most of the models, etc.. All they have to do is make a new campaign, some new maps, and rebalance the game in beta testing.

One is never hurt by being given additional choices, only by taking them away. A QUADRILLION MAGIC FIND is worthless if you can't kill shit!
2 years for HotS?
Not really.I'd say Q4 2012 or Q1 2013.
Plus in yesterday's conference call it was stated by Mike Morhaime that we are very close to Beta so that's that.
Oh I'm sorry.. I didn't mean HotS won't come for "another" 2 years.. I meant that from the original game's release, it's going to be at least 2 years and a half until the expansion is released....
I should probably go back and rephrase that... it's very confusing indeed..
Oh, and in my off-topicness I totally forgot to answer what I was going to... No, I wouldn't quit Diablo 3.
Up until a couple years ago I still enjoyed getting 4-7 friends together and play some Diablo 2, not for the challenge but for the sheer mindless fun it was, even with all its "design" flaws.
Well, you used an interesting term, "quitting" - a game like this, you aren't really paying a subscription fee or anything, so it's more like "stop playing for a while". I doubt anyone will stop playing D3 forever just because Blizz launches another game, MMO or otherwise.
BTW, that upcoming MMO from them is "Titan", is it not?
I won't be quitting Diablo 3 completely regardless of what else comes out for likely at least a few years. Since there's no subscription fee for Diablo 3 its easy to keep playing it even if I spend time in another game. I doubt I'll be playing the new Blizzard MMO though, unless it turns out to be similar to Guild Wars 2 with the dynamic events instead of traditional quests and more action oriented gameplay, but better. For the time being, I think D3 and GW2 will last me many years.

I thought that was just an alpha code name sort of like Longhorn for windows.

The person you quoted most likely does too because they put the name in quotes.
So.. who knows how long I will be playing D3. I hope for a long time to come. It has to hold my attention until.... LINEAGE FUCKING ETERNAL. It's like Diablo 3... the MMO. Looks so awesome!
To those of you who say you are going to be playing GW2... Idk how you can play that game. I played the beta and it was just so terrible. It's probably because I never played GW1 but I just felt completely lost and I was bored by the PvP. I'd rather play DotA2/HoN than that game.
As far as Titan is concerned, I think it's going to be completely innovative. Something we've never seen before. I'm pretty sure we can count out a tab-targetting hotbar theme park MMORPG. I'm thinking more towards a sandbox/social media focused game kind of like what Frogster is going for with their Otherland MMO. Either that or like Firefall/Planetside sandbox hybrid.

Conclusion: No idea.
Is it wrong that relative to everything else around here this seems like a perfectly reasonable question?

.
Will check it out though. But right now my answer is no.
There's nothing to give up. Delete the game when you're bored, install it 10 year later and carry on from where you left off.
